is there any way to make them less obvious? i know that as locks get longer and the hairs get tangled, the hairs that would usually fall off your head stay in the locks. my ex looked like he had lice all the time because of all the hair bulb follicles that showed. if it's just a natural part of having locks, like all the hair b.s. you don't have to vainly worry about anymore, then o.k. i'm just wondering what the deal is, because i haven't seen a lot of other people with really obvious hair bulbs in their locks.
yeah, thats a part of having dreadlocks and not fussing about yer hair... i think if you dyed your hair then the follicles would be dyed too, and so theyd be the same color as your hair. someone jump in here...
I have it too. very obvious with my hair color. thought about dying it as well but I don't think i ever will.
i was reading about it. i guess it has to do with the hairs. the hairs that are "dead" and are meant to fall out usually won't have hair bulbs on the end because that is the part of the hair that helps add cells to make the hair grow. Only about 10% of hairs are in their dying phase and are ready to be shed after the bulb dries up, the other 90% are "living" hairs with a hair bulb and are still growing. So locks probably pull out more hairs than not, because the hairs get knotted and get pulled as the locks grow? Maybe? This makes sense to me, because I used to pull my hair out, and the "new" hairs growing back always had the bulbs. I don't know.
Lol i got that shit too looks like dandruff but its all good nothing you can really do about it maybe the dying part but who knows
whenever i henna my hair it dyes the follicles too and they become a lot less obvious don't think there's really anything else you can do about them though *shrug*
Heh i didn't know what follicles meant but i came in here anyways cause it's a funny word. ...It appears the discussion is just about wrapping up though as OP is letting them ride so....
I pick them out sometimes if I'm really bored during class. But the hair will rarely come out and I usually just end up snapping the follicles off. Which helps 'cause then the white parts gone
Can anyone make any claims about having this problem with locks that where not backcombed them? because if backcombing caused a lot of damage it could make your hair look like this for a long time.
