Hear me out before you respond. I'm an atheist in a sense myself. But what bothers me is these people who go around insulting and chastising those who have faith in God. They laugh and mock them because they believe 'stupid fairy tales' or in a 'flying sky daddy'. Thing is, these people are just as much of a fool as the people they feel such a need to constantly prove their superiority to. You haven't discovered any great truth. You have not become enlightened. More often than not these in-your-face pseudo-enlightened assholes are just scorned and jaded children who feel the need to lash out at a 'daddy who abandoned them' or are so angry/sad with the state of their lives they become deeply envious of people who can live in faith, even if such faith has root in ignorance. I do not recall exactly where I read this, so if someone can point out who I'm quoting I'd be grateful. It has been said that "It takes a man of great faith to be a sceptic." This rings true to me. I find that those who follow blindly in religion or faith do so because of a desperate need within themselves to mask a deadening doubt or fear. This of course is not true in all cases, but it's how a feel about a good deal of cases. But those who aggressively and spitefully scorn and slander such people for their beliefs I find even more pathetic. They are guilty of so much of the same short-sightedness and subversive devision of the worst cases of secessionist men of 'faith'. Any extreme of a single spectrum, offers no more true insight than its polar opposite. I sometimes have difficulty articulating my thoughts into words, so if you find me rambling or unclear, point it out and I'll be glad to explain myself.
Ditto. However I do believe the ridicules beliefs of the credulous are a constant source of amusement and parody.
Well that is at least one fallacy that you haven't fallen for. Maybe once you pass on you'll be able to look back on your life from a fixed point through a narrow tube and say "I was above it all"
Yeah I agree, anyone that says they know God definatley does not exist is full of as much bullshit as some one who says God definatley does exist. If people want to argue that one should not believe in God because there is no evidence to give reason to do so, fine. But it takes as much faith to believe God definatley does not exist as it does to believe he does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TckCV4mSpMQ"]YouTube- J Kwon They Ask Me + Lyrics!!
Your post is hard to read. As far as atheist pissing you off. Ah, within every group of people they are fucking ignorant dip shits, no matter what the position is. I can say the same thing about the religious folk I have to deal with on a daily basis. Always trying to pedal that shit on me. THAT pisses me off.
i agree, in fact i don't think i have anything to add to the original post. i seem to encounter a lot more of the religious fanatics than the hardcore atheists though, most of my peers who aren't religious are agnostic.
I accept that things like that are beyond my comprehension. When I die, I'll either understand it... or I wont be in a position to care or notice the presence or lack of whatever. That's good enough for me.
i was once having sex with a girl that said she didnt believe in g-d, then she getting fucked screaming "Oh g-d oh g-d" "wait I thought you didnt believe in g-d"...
I heard this last monday... In the end, there can only be one way the Universe was actually created, because if it was created multiple times there would be more than one, and since so far we don't have proof of a multiverse- but the point is that all these different ideas about creation are just interperatations of the same story, so in a way every religion or belief is right about creation because they are just different aspects of the same thing.
i get irritated who are too sure about ANYTHING. usually means they've closed off their brains to possibilities and potentialities and built a little wall that they'll defend unto the utter destruction of anyone who approaches too closely.
Well half the reason hardcore atheists piss me off more than religious fanatics is this: When an annoying religious person tries to convert you, why are they doing it? Because however flawed their ideals and beliefs are, they believe that they can save your soul by helping you find god and gain his favor. They think they are doing their part to ensure the immortal happiness of their neighbors. When Atheists spew their nihilistic rabble rousing, why do they do it? They do it to point out what a damn fool you are and how smart they are compared to you. Hopefully, they'll depress the shit out of you and make you loose hope. In this case, which is really worse?
religious fanatics think they are superior as well... it's all them and us stuff. they think they have moral superiority. could you not say that atheists are trying to help their friends from believing a false truth? it's not always im right you're wrong, and it's not always i want to help my neighbour from going to hell. i've met some pretty shit people who hide behind their religion and think it'll save them when they die even though they do bad shit and don't really act what they preach. so there's people on both sides of the spectrum, hopefully most of us are in the middle.
