Let me explain without using big words, so you can understand: MOST self respecting women would have a moral issue working in a strip club in any capacity. It can be a slippery slope when you start reasoning your morals away. I simply repeated a common saying in the industry. What makes you so sure that this saying is without basis? My friends' older sister told it to me when I was 13. She was waiting tables at a strip club, then started stripping when she needed to make more money. I have heard the same saying time and again, from many people who have worked on-stage, the front door, and behind the bar. Many places actually have rooms (not the champagne room) in back for sex, and the house gets a piece of the action. Stripping is not the glamorous lifestyle that many girls romanticize.

For the record, most retail workers get paid a flat rate, so slow nights pay just as well as busy nights. If they work for commission, then they would be one slow night away from riding the bus.

It goes back to that self-respect concept I mentioned earlier, but I don't expect you to understand that. I'm not sure how your sick and twisted logic draws the connection between retail and hooking. I can tell from other threads that it's your standard MO to try and vilify and bully people, rather than engaging in a civil debate. I'm just surprised you didn't accuse me of believing that all Nuns are one empty collection plate from being prostitutes.

I only hold people in high regard if they hold themselves in high regard. If you don't respect yourself, then why should I? How many little girls want to be a stripper or a prostitute when they grow up? Why do most strippers lie about what they do? Why are they ashamed to tell their parents? It's not a respected profession. The only reason guys want to DATE strippers is for the sex, not marriage. Is it any surprise that a guy doesn't want his wife seducing strangers for money and rubbing her naked body against them until they cum? Explain to me again how that isn't bordering prostitution, or why I would hold them in high regard.


I rose out of a neighborhood where there were gunshot every night, junkies next door, needles in the gutters, and people who sent small children to sell drugs because they don't get sent to jail if they get caught. I've known many strippers and prostitutes personally because they were my neighbors. What difference does one more step make when you've already started down the road of self-destruction and don't care about yourself? Not everybody ends up in the slums by choice, and I swore to myself that my children would never be exposed to such an environment. I was just lucky to have parents that emphasized self respect and morals. I worked hard and get myself out of that ghetto, and now I have a loving wife and family based upon mutual respect and a similar outlook on life.

I guess you've lived a charmed life and never seen the depths of desperation that cause people to make some really bad decisions and start down a slippery slope to their own destruction. Would you be supportive if your daughter was a stripper, or would you do everything in your power to get her out of there?

Just keep living in denial about the harsh realities of life. IT'S OBVIOUS THAT SELF-RESPECT IS A FOREIGN CONCEPT TO YOU.

I told you the story of my friends sister already.

I moved into a really bad neighborhood right after graduation. There was some tagging in some areas, but it wasn't the hood. More of a blue collar ghetto with lots of section 8 housing. I wasn't afraid to walk around at night, but you could see everything going on. I was always cool to people and talked to my neighbors, because they look out for the people who look out for them. Then, one of them pulled me aside and told me to stay away from this chick. I wasn't 21 so I had never been to a strip club. They were really good people who were trying to raise good kids, and I respected them a lot.


I dated an ex-stripper for a couple of years. She had 2 kids and hadn't stripped for 5 years when I met her. She had been a meth addict and started striping to support her habit. She told a lot of stories that were beyond belief. I didn't care about her history, because I didn't want to be judged for my history. She was Bi and liked to pick up strippers from the clubs to bring home, so I've met a few that way too. She started doing crank after hooking up with an old friend, and I stayed with her and tried to help (get) her to quit using for almost a year because I really loved her. When she told me she needed to start stripping again to pay bills, I knew she was in deep and wasn't going to quit. I had no interest in dating a stripper so I broke it off. That's when I realized that I can't make another emotional investment in a person who doesn't respect them self. Your word are wasted and they'll tell you anything you want to hear. Then they do whatever they want when you're gone.

My buddy worked as a bouncer and bartender at several clubs, and always went to the bars where the strippers hung out. I can't begin to count how many strippers I met hanging out with him. You would hear the same stories about originally being a waitress at the club. The prostitution wasn't always sex for money. You would hear about a regular customer who bought her a car. Basically, the guy is offering a girl a $500-1000 car, and she just has to fuck him a couple of times to get it. Nothing that a police sting would catch, but it's still sex for a car. A number of girls who got drugs from their regulars were also trading sex, but they just claimed he gave it to them for free. I never said that ALL strippers are whores, but if the price is right, someone will go for it, especially if they have an expensive habit. It could be something small during a lap dance, while some places had a dressing room that could be used. My buddy told me that $500 would get you practically any stripper at the place he was working. I don't know if owners condoned it, but the bouncers and manager were involved, and it was a safe place for the girl to do the deed with a bodyguard outside the door.
