Anyone meditate thru practicing drills/playing on your musical instrument?

well yea, but i think that is a little different from traditional meditation. it is just like a different meditation technique.

one of my favorite books. i see it as the best translation of eastern thought into western language, yet oddly using a most classical western concept (arete)

Hitting my djembe or playing my guitar is meditation. It puts me in a similar if not exact mental state.

ouu....Yes...I usually sit and play the guitar upright.I dont know if its considered meditatating but i feel like a guru with a sitar...Now that is a peice of art.George Harrison supposdly learned how to play, which i dont know how its possible. The scales on the guitar itself are really complicated so could only think about how hard a sitar is.

I love the instrument itself, it makes a wonderful sound.

    yeah

I don't know what the word 'meditation' is supposed to convey exactly. I've tried to understand; ive attempted to rid myself of preconcieved notions about what it is. the cultural (and verbal, in general) descriptions of it have left the issue even more vague.

ive resolved to find out thru experience.

doing shit in rhythm seems to be effective.
