When healthcare costs governments ridiculous amounts of money and there is irrefutable evidence that various health supplements like fish oil, coenzyme q10 and vitamin d have profound disease prevention properties; wouldn't it make sense for governments to subsidize them so less people would get sick , thus saving way more money than is spent?

    Your thoughts?

There is no profit in a for profit health care system if people are healthy. The system is not so concerned with recovering sense on the dollar.

That's an awefully grim assessment, though there's some truth to it and it's sad.

My proposed solution: turn the supplement companies into the gung-ho lobbyists. Statin drug companies spend millions to perpetuate lies about the role of cholesterol levels in heart disease when statin drugs have proven to be useless and fish oil has proven to be immensely effective. You would think that having truth and evidence on their side would help.

You can get all these things direct from the source, from real food and sunshine. No supplements required.
Get some sun, eat fish, drink milk. Eat some chicken feet or combs or some other cartilage if you think it's necessary to get co-q10. That's what they make it out of...
BTW, the efficacy of Co-q10 supplements is very disputable.

No that's absolutely wrong. The amounts in food are insufficient and any small amounts in meat (plant sources are even more negligible) are damaged by cooking. The only viable sources are raw animal hearts.

Also, nobody is going to eat fish every day, but the omega 3 fatty acids should be consumed every day.

Sunshine is not always available and even when it is there are many factors like time of day, pollution, cloud cover, skin pigmentation, and female's inability to go outside without a shirt. This is why the majority of people have significant deficiencies which can and should be remedied by supplementation.

And where does milk come into this? Milk is pasteurized and unfit for human consumption regardless of any bacterial strains one is taking.

OH No's! Why did'nt they tell me that 45 yrs years ago?!!!

It's nonsense Stabby, you of all people should know better than to perpetrate such BS.
Produce the evidence that pasturized milk is not healthful.
No anecdotal crap either. This moo-juice malignment will not stand!...:boxing_smiley:

    To continue...

Milk is fortified with vitamin d...Women in North America during winter months should get a quart of milk a day, plus 20 minuets of sun minimum.

I would eat halibut, cod, and lobster everyday if I could afford it.:D

I do loves innard meats... 'specially deer heart...with Morel gravy:drool5:

When baby cows die before maturity when fed pasteurized milk, the burden of proof rests firmly on the side asserting that pasteurized milk is not unhealthy.

The vitamin d in milk is also terribly insufficient and not worth the accompanied poison. The body uses roughly 5000 IU a day, upgraded from the days of antiquity when it was only understood that vitamin regulates calcium absorption. I do agree that people should get sunlight, but when my suggestion to my friends and family is to go outside and get sunlight as it is critical to their health, I get told to stuff it. When I buy them bottles of vitamin d as holiday gifts, they take them and tell me a week later that they feel better than they have in months and their seasonal sniffles are gone.

But milk is neither here nor there though. We digress.

OMFG, WE ARE NOT BABY COWS!

    :banghead:

Also, a little research will show that pasteurized unsalable milk, as well as pasteurized colostrum is fed to calves on dairy farms without problem.

You are eating food for BABIES.

Of cource you like milk freshdarcy, its got drugs in it, and a drug addict like you cant get enough, put a tablespoon of extra sugar into your milk every day if you want to REALLY like it. haha.

Synthetic vitamins? Bullshit.. Soy Milk? Bullshit..

    Its all bullshit haha.

Why? is it going to do us harm? The only thing I notice it doing is building my body to be even more superior every day.

Do you actually notice that change happening?
Or do you just believe the false claims that milk companies make?

Before you started drinking stupid amounts of milk you were calcium deficient. Now you are calcium deficient to a lesser extent. Take some goddamn calcium supplements and drop the milk, they will serve you better and you won't be harming your digestive system.
