It was a joke, but I myself am not too fond of the bulk(black) metal sub genre. Subgenres such as thrash, traditional heavy metal, speed metal etc. are far superior IMO. Plus, there is a small rivalry between thrash and black metal. Being a big fan of thrash, I can't help but poke fun at people who are stereotypical kvlt frostbitten forest in Norway Iwearmakeupimahugefaggotpleaserapemyface shitquality black metal fans/musicians.
This is news to me too. I imagine DRI beating up Dimmu Borgir. Actually, I'd like to see that. Most black metal is crap, mainly because the genre got so big and sold out. I don't know if I could go back to listening to speed metal, heavy metal, power metal, etc. Once you've known death metal, there is no turning back!

I agree . Everyone I know likes various band across the whole spectrum from hard rock to whatever is now supposed to be on the other extreme. We do tend to define our individual tastes on who we dont like as its a smaller subset. I mention this because no matter which bands we do or do not like, I have not yet met anyone who is into bands from hard rock to metal who does not like Black Sabbath. Do such people exist?
I don't see how "liking anything indiscriminately" is a good thing. Sounds more like low standards. However, I have metal people who claim to hate: * Black Sabbath * Iron Maiden * Metallica ...which I thought were universal for metalheads. Many people seem to hate Judas Priest, which is a mistake in my view.

I just listen to black metal as for the artist...they all are boring and live boring lifes........unlike MAyhem at least back in the day.
