Shambhala! Gonna be working it this year as a production assitant. Hidden in June, Kelowna area. Hopefully we'll make it to Star Belly Jam in July.
Ohhh yes, must make it to shambhala this year. I also want to go to the edge of the edge of the world fest on Haida Gwaii: i love those islands. Maybe I should just do a festy-backpacking trek... that would be so cool
From what I hear (my sister and some friends have been) sand gets in your everything... I suppose I should check it out some time for myself though. After all, it is a local tradition.
If you are under the age of 19 you'll need a notarized letter from your parents/guardians and a chaperone that is 25 years or older to get into Shambhala this year. Better start getting that organized if you really wanna go.
i'm going to a local small free fest called mayfair, then if i can get over my fear of flying i'll be going to boom in portugal
very very sad that there is no rothbury this year hopefully wakarusa, maybe summercamp, shahbala, and most importantly anywhere string cheese goes! burning man would be dank as well
i'm sad about rothbury too!! anyone else go to '09?? i already got my summercamp ticket tho - really excited!!
oh yea, i forgot about summercamp! thats on my not sure list, even though it is the festie i want to go to most
ohhh, thanks for the heads up. You need a letter and a chaperone Huh... What does being a chaperone entail? I might have a few friends coming that could fit the bill, but it certainly makes it a tad trickier. Still, twill happen
Yep, a chaperone that is 25 years or older and a notarized letter from your parents that confirms they are allowing you to attend with your chaperone. You and your chaperone need to stick together at all times. Check out the forums at shambhalamusicfestival.com for more info.
Come to our lovely music festival, where adults must bring a letter from their parents and be accompanied at all times. How about fuck that shit.
Yeah that's actually really lame... Im not living at home yet I cant go to a festy on my own There's others
This is the first year Shambhala has only allowed age of majority in. I think it's a great decision personally and it will have only a positive effect on it. And yes, there are other parties, but you know yourself, there is nothing like its kind anywhere else in Canada. All ages can go, you just need to complete the proper process first. It's just to make sure that young adults are responsible for themselves and that if something happens, they are being looked after buy an adult. Edited to add: Age of majority differs in Canada depending what province you are in. Some places are 19 and some are 18.
Adults don't need a chaperone/letter; minors under the age of 19 do. This is to protect the festival from legal liabilities which will preserve the longevity of Shambhala. In the past, the majority of first-aid calls have been for kids aged 16-19. We hope that this new rule will help cut down on that and keep these kids safe. I fully support this after seeing strung out kids that are not much older than my daughter, wandering around with their eyes bulging outta their faces. Yes, there are other festivals, but none of them can compare to the magic of Shambhala.
Oh god I want to go to Coachella so bad! I went three years ago, almost got squished/trampled by an angry mob while watching the Arcade Fire and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Best night of my life.
Is that nelson ledges in ohio? I love that place, i went to the george clinton show there last year..... i wana go to grateful fest this year also I kinda understand chaperoning the youngin's....... at one of columbus, ohio's community festivals last year some young chap stabbed himself to death while on pcp or lsd. he was trying to stab off hallucinations... although i understand that this isnt the case for every 18year old kid who does some strange drug at a festi.
