Does anyone ever get strong vibes from people on lsd, and do they tend to be correct? My boyfriend and I just split up, but he was crying and said he loved me so much. I can't tell everything, but basically he's really depressed, and he said he doesnt wanna pull me into that if it gets worse. Anyway, I recently tripped acid and kind of freaked out, so I called him saying i just needed to have him by me (really irrational I know). Anyway I was getting more nervous because he wasnt responding. To my surprise, he knocks on my door and shows me his broken phone. He takes me to the grocery store, and then back to his place where he holds me all night and promises its all ok. There I suddenly felt calm, and I remember thinking, "We're gonna work out, but not tomorrow, so don't expect it to be fixed when you wake up in the morning." I thought if I just give him the right space and give him the love and support he needs, we'll work out someday. I also got vibes from a guy I thought was really cocky and read into him that he didn't use to be very popular. I could tell what kinds of trips other trippers in the room were having too. Do you guys think the kind of vibes you get on lsd tend to be accurate, or is it just your mind playing games?
Sweet topic. Not super excited about the boyfriend talk (mostly 'cuz that's all your business, and I'm a guy so not really too amused by lovey dovey talk), but I'm REALLY interested in this topic. Mostly because I think most people just assume left and right the high sensations they're getting are "LSD talking to them and showing them the truth" that they don't stop and think that perhaps things may not be as so. Either way, would love to hear more... I'm actually not sure myself. I think LSD heightens your senses of perception, makes you FEEL them more and in detail (slows down all the automatic analysis you normally do), but I don't think it makes your perception necessarily better or different (that is, if I normally would perceive a person as cocky, on LSD, I will perceive them the same way, but perhaps see all the little details about it, while someone else may perceive the person as something else). I would love to trip face with some people one day and ask each other the same types of questions, to see if indeed we do sense something congruent on LSD. (anyone ever done that?) Well, as you can see, I'm horrible at being concise so I'll let this topic flow the way it does...
it does feel like your senses are heightened, but sometimes i think that since your senses are so much more heightened that your mind fills in the gaps sometimes.. since it is not used to the fine-detail. so sometimes some of the vibes that you are seeing are really only going to be a reflection of your subconscious self being projected onto your perceptive world.
I haven't had a conversation with another person tripping to see if we picked up similar things, but I did talk to people in the morning when I thought I sensed the sort of trip they were having, and I was pretty accurate even though they didn't really obvious emotional signals
I've experienced much strange phenomenon comparable to what you have posted, same goes for others. We definitely broadcast our emotions, tripping or not. People are generally able to tell what an other person is feeling by facial expression, tone of voice, and body language alone. My guess is while on acid, the connection is magnified ten-fold. I literally felt as if a certain person was going to call me a second before he did, and then I feel my phone vibrate in my hand and sure enough he was calling. I even knew what he was going to tell me. Another time, I told my friends I love hot cocoa tripping years before we ever finally got to trip together, and as soon as I was peaking out and thought about it, my friend says, "Hey you wanna go get some hot cocoa now?" Yet another time, a best friend of mine who is a girl, who would never otherwise have sex with me, asked me to have sex coincidentally the moment I was thinking about it during a very intense trip, however I declined, and told her she had a girlfriend and she should not cheat on her. (Yeah she's a lesbian). This is all what I can remember off the top of my head, I've ran into these types of things well over 20-30 times while tripping.
Hmmm... how's this.... Your senses and your mind are one (that is, your senses alone mean nothing, for it is your mind which makes sense of them and then you've got something). The idea of the mind trying to catch up to the senses sounds cool, but in reality this is what happens anyways (as there's no other way). You FEEEL your senses at an alarming rawness on LSD, that's what it does. Your mind then, I believe, interprets and perceives such things in a still normal fashion (however LSD does offer up more clear headed and creative juice to your interpretations, and if you combine that with heightened perceptions of the world around you, then you may have something). That raw high level feeling of sensing something on LSD, can probably sometimes trick a non-skeptic mind into believing "OMG this is the truth," when in reality, at best all we can do is probably still only make educated guesses with our minds. ~ Or perhaps Lucy does make us physic. Just wanted to add that. Addition: I wanted to add I also find that drugs like these (even weed) just slows down the process of sensing something, it entering our brain and us processing that information. Most of the times things we do this automatically and in a snap of a second, and that's why it seems so dull on a sober mind (also because the reason it happens so fast is also because the brain ignores some information or chooses to not go deep into it) . I find it kind of cool that we take so much pleasure it not actually altering our world, but by actually slowing it down, feeling, thinking about the details and immersing ourselves in them. I find marijuna (at least for me) is that exactly. You could do this soberly. Take a look at your room. Look at everything. How does it feel? What does it remind you of? What old memories play around, what do those memories also make you think of? Of course, this process is much easier and multiplied on LSD or even Marijuana.
I think the readings you make are right, last time i tripped i got too feel what everyone else was going through and how they felt when i looked at them for some time, and then i tryed either upgrade their happines or make them feel better. I really think you can read people.
Sometimes yeah. You can feel energy coming from them, mostly when it's bad. We got totally bombarded by a bunch of drunk obnoxious girls that were my budss friends. They knew we were tripping and it almost seemed like they were being obnoxious/loud on purpose.
A lot of people are opened up to a degree of empathy that they normally lock themselves away from. All the sudden not only is their feeling, but feelings without perspective, or one can suddenly not only understand where someone else is coming from, but feel it on a gut level. At least that's my feelings on it. psych drugs totally amplify empathy and create a interesting zone where you feel psychic because you're totally able to pick up on all the super subtle clues that we normally filter out or don't act on.
i like that thought. If we pick up little details in everything else while on acid, why wouldn't we do the same with people and their emotions?
LSD changes the way your brains nuerotransmitters go. and rushes information to your brain. as for reading people, its something ive become very skilled at, but LSD in my opinion took it to a whole new level!
