Howdy folks; I'm building up my trip-hop collection and would really appreciate some suggestions. I've heard a good bit, though wouldn't consider myself even a novice fan at best. Of what I've heard, I strongly prefer the instrumental variety in the vein of DJ Shadow, Mylo, and DJ Krush. The more 'mainstream' styles like Portishead and Massive Attack don't click for me quite as much...but maybe I just haven't heard the right albums. So I'm open to whatever you guys have in mind
Put me on the list of people looking for trip-hop suggestions. I'm like the original comment, I prefer the instrumental non-commercial variety. I do have an Amon Tobin album, gave it a quick listen but looking to give it more time soon.
check out rjd2's older albums, he released a newer one that was more commercial with singing but he has some good stuff' older stuff'.
