More to life then taking acid man, I'm pretty glad I actually didn't live through those times compared to now.

There are brilliant minds in every era of history including now

Every mind has the potential to expose itself as brilliant.

It is us as the viewer that doesn't take the time to perceive.

fuck that. i would not want to be taking doses as high as the ones they were giving out. too many freak-outs and burnouts as a result.
Also leary, although a brilliant mind, was extremely misguided in a lot of his Ideas. Probably was way too far out from weekly dosing for years.

I like Living NOW with the INTERNET. information disseminates better. I am more informed now than ever about what i put in my body.

I agree living through that time is a very "romantic" idea, however, the here and now may prove to have some serious silver linings...now it's our turn to defend these wonderful molecules and attempt to get free from all that we have imprisoned ourselves in as a society/world; and the way the world and humanity is advancing it could be epic, but who knows :)

Beautiful response Clear Water. My (2nd hand) understanding of Owsley is that he was a remarkable and unique person and also very controlling - and not necessarily a good person* to trip with.

If I could offer these words from those days about these days:

    These are the Days

These are the days of the endless summer
These are the days, the time is now
There is no past, there's only future
There's only here, there's only now

Oh your smiling face, your gracious presence
The fires of spring are kindling bright
Oh the radiant heart and the song of glory
    Crying freedom in the night

These are the days by the sparkling river
His timely grace and our treasured find
This is the love of the one magician
    Turned the water into wine

These are days of the endless dancing and the
Long walks on the summer night
These are the days of the true romancing
When I'm holding you oh, so tight

These are the days by the sparkling river
His timely grace and our treasured find
This is the love of the one great magician
    Turned water into wine

These are the days now that we must savour
And we must enjoy as we can
These are the days that will last forever
You've got to hold them in your heart.

    (Van Morrison)

    * A good person to trip with generally being calm, insightful, strong, honest, non-manipulative, kind, and so on.

Life before the internet was romantically heartfelt but ignorant
Life after the internet was practical, yet cynical
there's no going back now Jim
