i get to go see WILCO for the second time in a year on sunday!!! ask me how excited i am it's weird, i mean, we live in montana, so i never thought they would come here... last time we flew to new york to see them.
they're touring buttloads it seems... you should go to their site to see where they are touring to, if they're coming to montana then heaven knows where they're going to around the u.s.
Well it isn't that they wouldn't tour near me, but I don't know anyone or trust anyone to watch my 2 year old, to go. Maybe when I move back by family I'll be able to go, in Chicago.
omg that is hilarious, i love Papua New Guinea... the tribe guys are totally kick ass! hahahah lol hahaha lol
How many are there? I can only think of one.. New Foundland and Labrador. That's one province only. Am I missing others? Oh ya, and htey are called provinces (we have 10) and we have three territories.
ok i'm clearly brainless. i was looking at a map of canada the other day (no fucking idea why) and i swear i saw 3 or 4 of them. granted i thought newfoundland and labrador were not the same province.
my eye won't stop fucking twitching! fuuuuuuuuck! it's been like this for several days now. like every 30 mins twitch grrrr
It’s probably best to go off topic with this one … Ahoy Z … not at all … it’s proven, I’ve mentioned some key issues, that organic meat places a greater burden on natural resources, so as a production model it is nowhere near being more sustainable than industrialised meat production. What you are basing your argument on is that consumer choice is a greater market force than corporate producers and suppliers, in this case agribusiness corporations. There is no way, as long as any economic model that promotes the maximisation of profits exists, that any major industry is going to reduce it’s turn-over for the sake of social morals. The whole notion that if organic meat was the norm, far less would be eaten is totally unrealistic. If organic meat became the norm, the more realistic outcome would be that the production standards would be relaxed. C’mon Z, you are from the US, you should know better than any one else that the politicians work for the corporations. In this case you have the US Farm Bill, and look at all the lobbying action surrounding just that. Where would any legislature be introduced that compromises the agribusiness corporations? There is no way these corporations will allow their supply and demand figures to slip, if organic meat was promoted by legislature, in anyway, it would obviously be a win-win situation for the corporations, which would no doubt entail an increase in the use of natural resources … and besides, everyone knows that governments aim is achieve an increase in business taxation, not a decrease. The reason that organic meat is produced externally and then imported to the US, is not so much that US farms are not geared up to receive the official branding, but more so that the standards of organic meat in the selected producing and exporting countries is not monitored in as a strict manner. This is particularly the case in Latin America, the irony being that US and Canadian agribusiness corporations are behind this anyway, they get the result they want, a ‘relaxed’ version of organic meat and the added bonus of using foreign natural resources. And it goes without saying that the Latin American governments are in these corporations back pockets, anyway. I’m not sure what perspective you peeps in the US have going, but somehow it always leans towards one that the public is in control … but let’s face it, the US public is completely out of control. Your leaders are untouchable, your corporations are mafia syndicates and your armed forces are hired guns. Do you really think that a handful of new age peeps in the US are gonna change the mass livestock industry to one that is more sustainable, when the very strength and power of the US is based on all things unsustainable? Obviously not, if there was any conversion to organic meat, it would be done in a way that the status quo is maintained, which primarily involves maintaining the cereal production levels. One Love!
so what's your solution? lay down and wait for the tsunami/ hurricane/ angry starving mob/ agribusiness thugs/ quetzalcoatl to come and kill you/ us all?
I haven't eaten any meat since i was 10, but i do it because i dislike the taste/texture it really has none to do with the lives of animals. I dont eat a lot of veggies though and never organic that shits expensive/gross, just lots of grilled cheese and salty pasta w/o sauce. mmm I'm lacto ovo vegetarian because as mentioned i don't do it for the animals and those don't taste much like meat, but eggs are grody too and milk is only for chocolate or cereal. I do love me some cheese though. /rant
