i'm doing a history fair project on the innovation of marijuana, with my friend alex. we're including old marijuana propaganda, the truth about the drug, etc things like that. potential uses for marijuana, medicinally, and as hemp. any more ideas? O: its due this upcoming friday, i'll take pictures when its finished!
my teacher is actually really excited. he gave me a newspaper article from the personal journal aobut 'how marijuana effects the brain' according to this, 32% of people who tried a substance (tobacco) became dependent... while only 9% of people who tried a substance (marijuana) became dependent. heroin is at 23%. cigarettes are bad for you!
Yeah you could talk about how bad cigarettes are for the body, mabey that will get people to like weed more.
Here are a couple of links to some web sites I found helpful. Feel free to pick and choose. http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Marijuana_Cultivation http://www.usmarijuanalaws.com/ This is a good one.... I think it will match your current info. http://www.medicalmj.org/ of course http://www.norml.org
Been Done! http://www.kirotv.com/news/19634608/detail.html http://www.thenewstribune.com/312/story/769115.html http://blogs.1077theend.com/aharms/...insula-high-smokes-pot-in-final-presentation/
i have norml, of course. medicalmj should be helpful! and i would use wiki, but we're not supposed to, since its not totally reliable. D: we've got to make a board, and its being presented in a competition, similar to science fairs... but its a history fair! haha and i have to connect it to chicago in a way, too. we're including how marijuana and cigarettes are reversed, in society. people use cigarettes for relaxation, but they're seriously unhealthy for you, and millions of people die from lung cancer caused by cigarettes. but marijuana isn't deadly, and the only reason people think that is because of propaganda, like reefer madness, etc, lies from the government. exposure in the classroom haha.
I think you should talk about something interesting, instead of a topic bought up by every pothead in the US.
those are all the same kid. hahah i'm glad this kid got a reaction! i'm sure his classmates were proud of him xD
my teacher sort of suggested this topic to me, plus we're doing it well, instead of shitty/obviously done by a stoner.
Also fun.... http://www.drugwarrant.com/articles/why-is-marijuana-illegal/ http://science.jrank.org/pages/4128/Marijuana-History.html These are good for sources. http://www.encyclopedia.com/topic/marijuana.aspx http://www.druglibrary.org/schaffer/hemp/history/history.htm I know this is another Wicki but look at the bottom for sources. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_history_of_cannabis_in_the_United_States Good Luck with the project.
You haven't seen Totally Baked so you wouldn't get it, then again Totally Baked wasn't that funny so it's not necessary that you watch it either. They are basically just trying to find a way to legalize marijuana and they realized that if the snack food industry told the anti-pot Church people that marijuana prevented homosexuality that there would literally be no one to oppose them in congress It was a funny idea at least
thanks for all the help i'm working on an outline on paint of the board... just a little shitty version of the board, i'll post it when i'm finished so you can see how it will probably turn out, layout/generally. i do! haha some of the biggest queers i know smoke. xD me and my friend thought you were serious, and he was thinking that it messes with hormone levels? on a funny note... my teacher thought it was entertaining that pot can be used as livestock feed, (in certain extracted ways), and he's cracking up and yelling "GET YOUR POT DOGS, BETTER THAN MUNCHIES" during class the other day xD
