Allright well ive been contemplating this....Which would you choose? I go to school and receive a degree and like study my brain until it explodes.Or i recieve a trade in one of these....Carpentry, Electricain and or plumbing. After this id be traveling around and saving up money...Ive been leaning towards the trade lately because of the amount of money and the traveling option. Some ideas as to the usualy hours in the day one those works? Like mourning shifts? Weekends? Blah blah blah ? lol edit- iam sure iam posted this somewhere else lol
Well, I'm not much older than you, and I have to try and figure this all out as well. A few things I've figured out so far is that plans have never worked for me, so right now I'm just winging it. I do what I want to do and go where I feel I need to be. This makes college kind of impossible right now, but at the same time, I'm getting a lot of experience in off-hand jobs that I happen to end up working, and I'm learning about the world with my own eyes. I guess all I'm trying to tell you is don't worry too much on the future, don't over-think it, decide with your heart and then your head and just kind of enjoy where you are. Probably not the most practical answer, but one I felt compelled to give, since I used to suffer from the same dilemma that you apparently are trying to conquer now.
I always wanted to go to university, so I went and got a degree, but the while time I was there I knew it was the wrong subject. So, now I am taking some time out to find out what it is I really want to do as I have absolutely no idea. SO I would suggest that you take your time and really give some thought to what you want to do, but never rush into it. I'm just going to go travelling, see new things, meet new people and 'find myself' if you will!
Dont rush to think what you want to do. You have years and years to come. I know I wanna stay in the medical field but I dont know or not sure about WHAT I want to be in it. Im looking for a job job right now but its ridiculous on how they want the requirements to be. I looked at hallmark-avon-gordmans-radio shack-sears I noticed that they all want at least 2 years or 5 years experience.... And they push it too. Im thinking how is ANY young person GOING to get a job when they HAVE to have a shit load of experience behind them? Ive had off and on jobs in my past, you really think Im or anyone else like is going to get hired? No. My point is that Nowadays, they expect too much in a 7/hour job
Well what do you really want in life at the moment? For me, I don't really care about college and shit. I just wanted to play music, so I'm going to UTI (universal technical institute) and i'll be a certified automotive technician within a year. Then, I can work and fuel my music with the money I make. If I want to make more money, I can specialize my trade [specifically BMW, Ford, etc] So what's your overall goal?
dude, for real,go to school.plumber you might be ok,but trades are down bad.I've been a carpenter for 10 fuckin years,& I've barely had work at all in six months. If you want a trade,I'd suggest auto mechanic, thats recession proof. If you choose school,I'd consider law,or medicine, something,as I said, will be in demand no matter what
automechaniac ain't forever either. plumbers and electricians are, in a way, and grid tied solar installer/planer/designer is almost the inevitable future. or will be when humanity gets its head out of its ass. or that is to say the dominant culture does. people always like to have someone else cook for them too. someday eatery's might start using real dishes again. right now its all fries and burgers on styro and cardboard. but all that dispose of everything crap will go away also, when/if people wake up.
watch them stupid Tech schools you apply to, I had to take Everest to the Attorney Generals office cause they be passing a nigga that dont show up for class so they can receive their monies... FUCK THAT!!! A mother fucker goes to school and applies themselves and gets lower than A's How the fuck is this possible? 3 people in class and the instructor marks all 14 of them there.. 1/2 these schools are scams.. And they make their money with the low income applicants..BEWARE!!!
I trust my school. I have friends that work there, attend the school, and have graduated from it. I mean 95% of all graduates get the jobs. I feel for you though, that sucks man.
I went to college and got a degree, but now I'm building furniture because it's what I have a passion for. You don't really need to decide exactly what you want to do until half way through college. I think you should go for the degree so atleast you have something to fall back on.
Great adive people thank you!!.....As of late iam most likely gonna give myself until august to decide wether i take the college route or the trade route and until then ill find a small job so iam able to have some money for pot etc.... and ill be able to work on the guitar for a bit and get back into shape until then. lol Iam really excited about the future. The idea of monking still appeals to me because ill be able to boost up my karma and learn a shitload of musical instruments while relaxing in peace. I doubt iam gonna take that route though, having a girlfriend to travel with would be awesome and if i go to amsterdam ill make my neice and nephew study their asses off in school so they could go to Amsterdam University and ill let them live with me for a bit. I think thats a nifty idea. lol Alot of possibilties but august is when i gotta decide. lol
