    Hey everyone
I was looking around on the internet for living off the grid, living in the wild type of stuff and on this one website I came across this episode of truelife. The truelife episode was "I am living off of the grid" and it shows these two 20 yrlds living off the grid in the woods and being taught how to survive and appreicate nature. I am not really into mtv or anything like that but I really enjoyed the show (besides the killing animals part).
If you are interested I am sure if you google mtv off the grid, you will find the episode.
Has anyone seen this? What did you think?

I can't stand MTV but True Life is actually a pretty interesting show sometimes. Haven't seen that one though.

One of the few times I watched True Life, it was the "I have Schizophrenia" episode, and it turned out one of my friends' girlfriend (who is also a friend of mine) was on there, Amber. I was shocked as hell to see her on there and called everyone I knew.

"Holy shit! You know Amber is on MTV!" lmao...

One time I was drunk and we were at a party and I walked out the house, she was still in there, and I walked up to a group of friends and said, "Yeah. It's fucking schizo in there"...I felt like an ass the next day.

i didn't see that episode, but it sounds interesting. mtv generally never interests me, but true life is their one decent show.

Living in the woods may seem like a fun or cool idea, but you had better know your skills and be quite practiced with them to actually survive, or you'll just end up starving, wounded, dehydrated, or just plain dead!!!
Make sure you find a spot to practice skills such as stalking, trapping, finding water and making it safe to drink, processing animals, foraging plants to eat and knowing the poisonous ones to avoid, making tools, which plants can be used for medicine and first aid, summer and winter shelters, and of course fire.
The are just the basics, so form your group and have several people that knows several skills so you can survive somewhat safer and be able to teach skills to others.
    Here's a site that will help, wildwoodsurvival.com
Also get a good survival field guide book such as Tom Brown's Wilderness survival guide, and an excellent plant book called...
Identifying and Harvesting Edible and Medicinal Plants by Steve Brill

And get to know each plant, in each season, and 100% before you attempt to eat it, or you'll end up sick or dead.
Don't bother with mushrooms, too many are deadly for a beginner to experiment with...I'm far from a beginner, and I still don't mess with them... there's plenty of other plants to find.

Be prepared, be safe, or be sorry...
    Happy trails, Peace

One day I tend to migrate to America run into the bush and live in a log cabin next to a lake surrounded by bears. That would be cool. Just thought I would share that.
