Purpose of life: To pro-create? or to experience?
Purpose of existence: To find a higher purpose, or to experience?
The meaning of it all: To find an answer to it all, or to experience it all?

    ?

I'm too old to figure out an answer to your question(s), but I do know that we were born to be healed and to live accordingly.

I think we are just an elaborate shell which evolution has created in order to allow our DNA to replicate. The same as other animals. We just happened to develop consciousness along the way.

And if I am wrong, then I will go with "42" as 2nd choice. After all, it is 7 times 6. Can't argue with that!

I wouldn't know. We just have to do our best and hopefully, somewhere, along the way we might make a difference in our small corner of the world.

    That is a good cartoon.

Maybe the purpose of life is to interact with your fellow beings on this plane and gain some further knowledge from that exchange.

So, where ya at "Guest?" You come on here, make one post on Feb 17, 2010 and haven't been heard since. Especially since the question you asked seemed valid and got several right-on replies.

Again, did you lurk, even read the responses? Got any follow-up comment?

It is whatever you want to make it. For myself I know I value some things. Through losing myself as I used to know it I have been able to work from the ground up in valuing family, friends, and fun. Also I think people have made the purpose of life to produce produce produce big big big, and I'm not going to protest against that. It's my self assigned purpose to break away from that as much as possible. I want to return to the Earth and that's the only thing I see fit, all else appears to be manufactured bullshit to feed superficiality through bills bill bills.

God I hate when people argue the point that the purpose of our lives here is to procreate. Dumbest shit ever. If that was the point we are "procreated" for no reason.

That's exactly what I want to avoid too. Overworking for most of my life just to accumulate a bunch of stuff I don't need. I'd rather have less in exchange for more free time. It's interesting that half the worlds population owns only the money they have in their pocket.

I think when people argue that point, what they mean is that the "point" of evolution, the "goal" rather, the original reason to live and survive was indeed to procreate. That is still the "purpose" for all other plants, animals, micro-organisms, bacteria, etc. but as for us humans, while that is still our body and natural instincts "goal" and "purpose", we, though awareness and mental growth, have developed to the point where we create our own purpose.

agreed. at this point in evolution, we've pretty much accomplished dominance, superiority among all other species, though there's still much that could be improved as far as evolution, we are still quite advanced. at this point its no longer about procreation, but we have become the designers of our own web, Nd now we decide what our purpose is.

The body is a touring vehicle for the soul. Use it to roam.... rev its engine once in a while and don't be afraid to abuse it lest you never get to experience its recuperative abilities.

In the wise words of George Carlin: "Plastic. The Earth wanted plastic and couldn't make it itself. So it created humans. Now that it has plastic it is killing us off slowly."

Just kidding. Here is a thought that occured to me while I was tripping on acid. Humanity is a ripple on the cosmic consciousness. Think about how perfect conditions must be for that ripple to come into existance and how perfect it must remain for that ripple to continue to exist. It's an interesting rabbit hole to dissapeer down.
    Peace Out,
