Evolution is completely random. Random mutations alters a trait so that it is more favorable. There has been extensive research by Peter and Rosemary Grant based on the same finches that interested Darwin. Their research is chronicled in The Beak of the Finch by Jonathan Weiner. The research reveals that evolution occurs during a much smaller time varible than once thought, sometimes seasonally. It is a great read for anyone interested in the subject.

For me, my faith and science are not mutually exclusive. I see God in science. But for those who deny evolution as even the slightest possibility, should take a look at some of the newest evidence with an open mind.
