I need to live the life im meant to live, which is NOT corporate america

I feel so stuck. I am living a life that I am not happy with, a life I dont fit into. I have been looking for communes but I am not having any luck. I live in Virginia so I dont know if there are just not many or what. I guess I am just ranting that I dont want to live out my days living by looking at the clock till the day I die. Rushing around, endless calls, endless appointments, endless stress. Its not just that im getting burnt out on the lifestyle im livng now, I have just never belonged in this lifestyle. It drains me. What lifestyle do you see yourself living, when you close your eyes and imagine?

 

I know exactly how you feel.

 

I feel that way too. I want something so much better than all this craziness.

 

It is summer and so I feel more open to say that I live what you speak of, and have in the past been part of and preparing for community for a long while now.
Ain't it funny how the closer you get, sometimes the further away it seems.
So many offer the thought of community much energy; but when it comes to the doing, often those serious enough to do, find they go it in hermit style.
Course it might be helping that reality manmifest by the wee bit of feyness of those so far involved.

And at this point it is not a community, but more a homestead. Though in the fingerlakes region, it is a bit more wild than some have been able to handle...that and there is way too much work to do....lol

We are about to buy 40 acres of mountain land in New Mexico in the Saw Tooth mountains.

We are looking for people who what to live high up in the mountains far away from the world who want to make a self sustaining small community.

I can understand what you say. I live on the eastern state of Australia. Just bought a small farm to escape certain types of people, but im not satisfied. I feel i want to be around like minded people in a communal environment. I thought it was just me, Im so glad there are others around who have similar thoughts and desires. good luck.

I can relate.
I'm burnt out on this system too!
I think alot of people got majorly screwed by this system.
And are just sick of supporting the greed.
Allot of people are starting to live off the grid if they can.
Build their own shelter somewhere ,grow their own food.
Live off the land again,create their own electricity have your own water source.

I completely agree. I too have never fit in this corprate american lifestyle. Work, buy, consume, die in the words of otep. I need something more, something different. Turn on, tune in, and drop out - tho not specifically meant for this situation, it definitley applys. I am turned on, tuning in, and need to drop out - of this life style. I too want to live on a commune, next spring I've plans for going to Colorado and doing what I've always dreamed of doing. Living off the land, communaly with other like minded people working with energy and such to heal the earth and the people in it, growing our own crops, ect. I wonder how many of us out there do not fit in and wish to drop out as well?

Alot of people are feeling that! your not alone.
Specially after losing everything to this greedy economy.
I call it the awakening thats going on in this society today.
Life wasn't meant to be a hardship.
Heaven and Hell is what man creates in this world.
A Richamn's heaven is a Poorman's hell.
This world provides freely everything we need to survive.
It is man that has put restrictions and the burden of cost on things in our lives.
