The US army is stronger, yet, the Israeli army is considered the most technologicaly advanced and by far the best trained and best functioning. ( I am an Israeli citizen)

The West Bank and Gaza are the places you're thinking of, Palestinian territories that have been illegally occupied by Israeli settlers and by the military. If you want to know why terrorism exists, look no further than the town of Jenin, where the Israeli army cut off water supplies in a refugee camp and massacred hundreds of civillians, whilst refusing to let UN inspectors in to investigate the attrocities there. Yes terrorism exists, and yes it is awful, but it's a product of an injust subjugation of an entire people in a land that once belonged to them....

This war, as all the others, brings death, distruction and disgrace to all the people involved (palestinians and israelis) and even brings sadness for us, who want peace. I feel shocked when I see a child crying no matter what her nationality is. I don't agree with terrorism, of course. Terrorism has nothing to do with Justice. It is a consequence of unfair and cruel realities.
I support the palestinian cause. As Peace-Phoenix well said, Israel illegally occupied Palestina, they tried to submit a Nation that was independent and that had its own identity. Peace only happens when Nations find their identities and don't try to impose it to the others, cause that's called imperialism. Just wonder if your country was invaded, if your people was forced to obey to strangers cause otherwise they would be chacinated. Where's the Justice in a situation like this?
I felt very sorry when Arafat died. I think he was a great lider. The world changes when men like him fight for values. And I felt very angry when I saw some israelis dancing in the streets, celebrating his death. I understand that hate causes hate, but it's hard to accept this kind of things. Don't get me wrong, I would love to go to Israel, in fact it is one of my dream trips, but I can't stand Isreali right wing parties and I can't stand Ariel Sharon. And I also can't stand fundamentalist organizations.
