When i first noticed my hair was thinning I tried Rogaine but then I said fuck it. I really don't care what happens to it. If people think me and my knobby head are ugly I really don't care.

i never minded bald patches on men. so long as they don't combover and all that nonsense. if it's bad, shave it all off. simple.

i reiterate, i've had a long standing issue with hair in general. i don't much like it.

I just cut my hair real short and I like how it looks. Never bothered me and I got over it real quick.

Hi guys, I just joined this forum, I am from India.

As per this thread - I shave bald & let it grow to full then again shave bald, I like to feel all good. Actually both me & my wife practice same.

It's a crap shoot! If your mother's father was bald, there's a 50 percent chance you inherit the gene. However, it's not all from the mother's side as previously thought.

You're not going bald now, at least. I lose loads of hair each day, 'cos it's quite long. The average person loses around 100-150 hairs a day, it's just the average person doesn't notice

your follicle is pushing out the old hair to replace it with a new one. So when a hair falls out, remind yourself of that, it's make you much less paranoid.

    Hope that helped.

yeah, it's a major paranoia pile o shit for me. I'm far, far too young to go bald, but tho odd thing is I've had a huge forehead and widows peaks since I was six and it hasn't changed since. I think my family's just got something weird going on with that one. My mom looks the same actually. And her dad's not bald but really thing hair and a really high forehead, etc. The weird thing is what to do with it. It's alright if you're bald 100% or not at all, but this very young high forehead thing is a bitch. Thing that sucks is that on my dad's side 80+s have full hair and whatnot. At least I got a beard early though. This is shitty :(

  10. I'm 24 and fully bald by choice. It's a beautiful thing. Ive been doing it for about 3 years. The advantage is that I've looked the same and ppl say I haven't aged b/c I've always been bald...shave away ppl and embrace it!

Agreed... when I realised my hair was beginning to give up the struggle, I looked on it as a chance for a change of direction, and have been shaving my head ever since - must be over 15 years now.

Just wish I'd started doing it earlier... think of all the money I'd have saved on shampoo :)

Actually, the male shaven head seems to be pretty common in this part of the world, so you dont get the odd looks and name-calling you might once have.

I don't mind the baldness too much. I can't really see it myself without a mirror, but it is getting worse and worse.

The thing that kind of sucks for me is that I really liked having long hair. I used to have hair down to my butt, never tied it up or anything...wavy brown hair. I really wish I could do that, but it would look ridiculous now.

It does allow you to make a lot of self deprecating jokes, which is fun. Also, I like getting my hair cut, and when they show the back with a mirror saying, "Oh my god, what did you do to my hair?" as if I'm in shock.

My problem is trying to decide when having slightly longish hair looks like I'm trying to hide it. My hair isn't long at all, but not a buzz cut either. Sometimes I feel like it might look like I'm trying to hide something. I always ask when I get my hair cut, "do you think I should just shave it?" and they always respond that it's not that bad....but they might just be nice.

(Also, like someone said, the hat is necessary now in the sun....or spray sunscreen which is usually the bad kind healthwise....sometimes I feel like the hat is me trying to hide it too.)

If I could take a pill once and get it all back, I probably would...but I'm not going to put on lotion every day or take a pill that is dangerous for pregnant women....so that's not an option. (Implant would just be too vain too.)

That's life....a lot of things happen that you can't change, and you're better off accepting them.

I don't think I'll go bald, I've got thick curly long hair now, and my Dad and both Grandads all had thick hair, still if I did start to go bald I wouldn't get a combover or try to cover it up like some over the hill rocker, I'd just shave the lot off.

  14. i'd also like to that being completely bald has always been in style...when you look at videos of any kind from the 60's and on, you can usually spot somebody rockin the bald get up.

I'm halfway bald, it ain't so bad. I buzz my head with clippers once or twice a week. I'm used to it now.

And by the way, I'm pretty sure the bald gene comes from your mom's side of the family, so if you're dad's bald, don't sweat it.

Also -- for all you balding fuckers out there -- don't worry about not being able to get girls because you lost your hair. I've found plenty of girls who don't care that much and a few that actually dig it. (I'm dating a pretty attractive girl right now who actually PREFERS bald dudes.)

My only advice is to keep up with your buzzcut. Don't let that shit grow or try to comb it over or hide it. That just makes you look like you don't have any confidence. (And in my experiences, I've noticed that confidence is more important than hair.)
