I Dream of Summer

So my spring fever is in full swing although I will get another 5 feet of snow by the end of winter. I can't fucking wait to go outside and feel warmth from the sun.

So what are your summer plans?

Me? Same as usual. Camping, fishing, hunting, target practice, get better with my compound bow, growing fruits and veggies, mushrooms, pot and opium, festivals, tripping outside, swimming, hiking, work on teh cars, walk my gator outside, and whatever else I feel like doing. I want to do more gold expeditions this spring too.

What abouts you? Anything fun planned? How many other people are in full spring fever mode?

I keep on forgetting you're located in alaska. I can't imagine the summers would get very warm, or very long for that matter.

Too bad most of us live in places where we'd dream to do stuff like that.

 

Festival season! Festival season! Festival season! - Want to make it to at least 3 festivals this summer. Oh yeah and Camping, swimming, enjoying daylight until 9 pm...

I am sooo ready for summer as well. I am sure it isn't as bad in California as Alaska (haha) but it's been so rainy lately. On monday the whether was beautiful and it was such a tease cause I had to spend the whole day in classrooms, then when I had more time the next day to appreciate it, I woke up to a rainy day. And it's still rainy. Bleh. But This summer I am going to Europe which will be fun. Hoping to stop in Amsterdam (just for the experience. I don't really enjoy weed.) In July and August I will be working, hopefully swimming in the ocean, camping, and possibly a few festivals if possible. I am so ready to wear warm weather clothes. Pants just don't feel right

 

Eh, it can get up to 80 here, short summer but worth it. There isn't enough time to do all the things I want for sure. I try to get out of town every weekend and I go to at least 4-5 festivals. I try to cram as much fishing in as possible to stock the freezer all winter, this year I am going to trip and go fishing a few times. I would like to get a black bear and a moose as always. But I want to make a black bear rug this year, and mount the skull.

i ride my bike to work every day, so obviously that's much nicer
daylight til 9PM like someone just said

i wanna go to at least one festival, go camping, lots of hiking and outdoor stuff
swimming and walking up a creek or under a waterfall

and since i'm planning on abstaining from psychedelics for a few months, i look forward to trip in the summer

 

Summer gets to hot for me. I dream of spring

 

I never imagined you'd be the kinda person to hunt, i guess its more humane than eating store bought, factory farmed meat you could definitely say.

 

Plus, you get a sexy rug out of the deal... haha

 

painting, festivals, a job[sigh], paying rent, chemical research.

 

The summer here is almost 24 hours of daylight, and the winters are almost 24 hours of dark... And since I am frozen 3/4 of the year, I like to bask in the hot sun and stock up for the winter. But I am just about ran out from last year. And it doesn't really get too hot here...

 

I hunt and fish every year to fill my deep freezer. I am wayy into gun collecting and practicing. I have alot of hobbies you would't think I had

I don't buy beef, chicken or fish. I shoot a moose every year and that's more than enough for my family, I like to get a bear but I don't every year, I buy chickens and raise them in the summer, I have meat rabbits for me and my snakes, and I fish every year and keep all the edible fish. The only meat I really buy at the store is pork and steak, moose steaks are different... And beef steak is my favorite food, no pun intended.

Yea, every time I get a black bear and make a rug, I give it to someone. This time I want to make one for me I am going to etch a bear standing on his hind legs in the woods on the skull and treat it and mount it for the wall. I'm excited.

Well it won't be till next fall during the hunting season, then I have to let the hide dry out and cure for a few months.. So it will be a little while.

 

close to 24 hours of daylight would be pretty cool...for awhile at least
24 hours of darkness could be cool too, but get old pretty fast

winter wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't like 5 months. i'd say in WNY we get at least 4 months of cold snowy weather, a month or two of muddy spring, maybe a month of NICE spring, then 2 or 3 months of summer, 2 months of fall, and another long ass winter

January. Burrr. When I was younger I was always jealous of all my friends who has summer birthdays cause they could do water fights or amusement parks or whatever. I had to be more creative. I did get to take a few friends tubing in the snow one year though.
