    Hi guys,

I just wanted to know what people's reactions where when they lost their mum or dad if you are in your teens or lost them when you were in your teens.

I'm acting in this television show where I have this scene in a hospital where I lose my mom and I'm sixteen. I was just wondering if anyone has really experienced that and could tell me how you reacted (shock, grief etc) and how you felt.

any help at all would be so great

    thanks

I was 12 when Dad died. I reacted by becoming ill for days at a time.

I was stoic leading up to the moment it happened, I collapsed crying when I found out and then I was back to being stoic again.

    are you fucking kidding me?
really, i would love to tell you my exact reaction and the emotions that were running through my head when i found out my father died.
the only thing is, ive been working on suppressing those memories for years now.
sorry dude, but what we were put through was real life, it wasnt a fucking tv show, and the fact that you're actually asking people to recall their reactions to the death of a parent for tips and pointers on how to act out the scene better is completely beyond me.
    fuck off.

    Midwest, Rain, Macca, One,

Have a look at this sometime: How it Feels When a Parent Dies by Jill Krementz. Eighteen young people ranging in age from seven to sixteen discuss the questions, fears, and bereavement they experienced when one of their parents died (Berkeley Library description). It's just nothing but the real thing. Loving you.

    Libraries or ~$12 from Amazon.
