House showing today. Also, kids first swimmine lessons of the season. I imagine my anxiety ridden child will sit on the charis wtih me and watch the other kids swim and not get in. IT's gonna break my heart and I'm going ot have to be strong and tell him it's ok, to take his time, it's gonna be alright... when really I jsut want to cry with him because it makes me so sad that he cant' join in the fun. :(

Not much else happening. I had a guy respond to my local "looking for hula hoopers" ad. But he doesn';t hula hoop, he just likess the people that do. HA! So i will likely write him back and set up a play date. lol

badfish - he suffers from anxiety, so it makes him very withdrawn for social situations, especially those involving other children. He's only 4 and a very late talker which makes the situation even more challenging. Ah well. He's actually not autistic vig... he kinda suffers from the opposite... over worrying, etc. Autistic children will often times not choose to not interact with other children because they lack the social skills to do so... they do not notice different emotions on others (cant' read faces) where my son has that to the nth degree. He over studies people and internalizes it all... a little worry wart.

Today i have been nursing a very sore head...at the weekend i was at a party with a huuuge sound system which shook the ceiling loose and about a 2 foot chunk of plaster, wood and brick fell on my head from about 10 feet up! so i have a huge gash in my head and some of one of my poor dreads got torn out, not a happy bunny.

Oh ok, that must be tough to deal with.
Hopefully it will clear up as he ages :) that happened to my Uncles child, hes 8 now but he had severe anxiety up until he started going to school, well it took about a year for him to adapt but now you wouldnt even know how he used to be :D its really good to see.
Best wishes to you and your son :)

Anyway right now its 1:30 here and Im going to have a shower and go to bed. Have to be up at 6 to move some mroe things into the new place and then its straight into geography exams at 9 and then art history. No point in complaining though, just have to get on with it!

Hey vig, no worries at all. I do refer to him as "special needs', etc, so it would be a logical jump to say autistic.

badfish, that is great to hear. We've been dealing with this since the age of two and had to withdraw him from a school that just didn't work hard enough to try and integrate him. We have him in a wonderful school now that is really helping him out a lot. He still does not like strange people (Today they tried to pair him with a kid a few grades older for some activities and there were tears) but we have made tons of progress. At age two he would cry if someone looked him in the eyes tha the didn't know.

ANYWAY... IT WENT AWESOME!!!!! He was nervous ahead of time, but there were only two other kids in his class so he just kinda followed the instructor around and had a blast!!!! YAHOOOO!O!!!! This made my day. This made my year so far actually. <3
