I, ugh, tend to rhyme a lot sometimes. Ha. This one is about my many on the road adventures, and how much I miss them. lost old bag of bones, i am silly stringed on the sidewalk. fulfilling my full potential, i ruin things by being an intellectual. a-e-i owe you twenty bucks. for so long you've been asking me like, please. my muscles and joints feel like they could seize. fuck. there was a moment and i really grabbed for something there and everyone thought wow, go man, and then i remembered the fun i had. i jostled around inside of a crackling moment, rad. did you do that? reminding me of the responsible weight of everyday stuff, speaching, rather i'd be in the water with my shoes wet, beaching. drinking, and thinking, and rhyming, not timing. not your thing, but it's something. good like fuck or bad like luck, it's a some thing. really, you know, it's the real thing. funny like laughing gas, tasty like a beer in glass, it's everything. sober pillar, voice of reason, you called me and said stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. why, how come, whassa matter pop? the water is warm and the girls they like me when i'm a drunken beach boy of the world. nobody cares how many failures unfurl. they know. i know that they know, and they go woah, i like your singing voice. clearly, this is the right choice. -jambo, 09
Reading this just reminds me of how much the road calls out to me. haha I really like the quick pace and fast beat. Really grabs your attention and keeps you going. Flowing along with it. "nobody cares how many failures unfurl. " Love that line especially
Thank you, TD!! I'm glad you get the same feeling from it that caused me to write it in the first place. I miss the open road, and travelling and hitch-hiking about. This was written as a posthumous tribute to an adventure I had in British Columbia, one summer. My favourite lines are: "did you do that? reminding me of the responsible weight of everyday stuff, speaching, rather i'd be in the water with my shoes wet, beaching." And "Funny like laughing gas, tasty like a beer in glass." Haha.
"i know that they know, and they go woah, i like your singing voice. clearly, this is the right choice." really got to me as well. Ah I really want to get out and hitch around the states after I turn 18 (which runs in my blood since my dad was a total tramp) I just can't find anyone to go with me. Really don't want to go alone.
Travelling is the best, man! You're lucky too, because the states has so much diversity. Canada does too, and some really amazing and beautiful places, but there is definitely more ground to cover in the U.S. You gotta get out, mama! The open road is a blast. Again, thanks for liking and commenting on this.
