This sucks.

 

I read a little blurb about their bassist in a magazine a while ago so I checked them out on youtube. I love Prog and Prog Metal like Dream Theater and Fates Warning et al. The couple of tunes I heard of Between the and Me I dug the introductions with these epic build ups and technical passages but once the Cookie Monster vocals kicked in it just lost me.

Between the Buried and Me has nothing to do with Slipknot. BTBAM may be borderline but you'd have to be deaf to not hear any metal in their music. Personally I never got into them, but I like some of the stuff I've heard. IMO, they'd be much better off ditching all the superficial metal aspects of their sound.

 

slipknot is considered nu metal/alternative to me.

 

" Fossil Genra A Feed" was at least musical in sort of a German Burlesque kind of way..
Thumbs up for actual singing. Cookie monster vocals turn me right the fuck off.

BTW Slipknot is Mall-core...

I fucking love BTBAM.
Every song they write is pretty much a masterpiece, not just chugg chugg breakdown chugg chugg breakdown.

They sort of break the boundaries in their own way, so it makes sense that a lot of people don't like them.

Fucking excellent musicians though. I'd like to see anyone in this forum outplay those guys. I respect em for that. hah.
