i'm on probation and have been told by my first PO (i'm on PO #4, he has not told me this) that i could not smoke even if i had my medical marijuana card. i'm sure the laws are different state to state, but can they seriously tell me i can't have a certain kind of medicine if i really need it?

Ask your current PO. I think medical marijuana in California goes by county, some counties don't approve of it

yes.. i might.. i haven't smoked in nearly 2 years and i didn't have my 215 card when the incident that caused me to be put on probation happened. (couldn't afford it and the marijuana was "free")

my pain level is just getting worse and worse.

Marijuana isnt any different than that of a pain medicine(Oxycontin). but your faggot po is probably getting a kick back from the big pharm companies..

    possibly.

i can't understand why it would be okay for me to be on these harsh, addicting, body damaging and expensive pharmaceuticals but not okay for me to use medical marijuana.

humans and their laws can be so ridiculous.

the more i think about this.. at the time i was told this.. i was still being prescribed klonopin but had stopped taking it.. but that was okay with them if i took it.. god damn klonopin is part of the reason i'm on probation in the first place.. shit is strong and will fuck you sideways and not call the next day.

well, i dunno about the laws in your area... but heres what i have to say and i'm on probation for marijuana and i toke for spiritual/medicinal reasons...

you broke the law and now you have to deal with the consequences. does that not register with you. you have to serve your time, because they own your piss until you're done or you get early termination. you got probation because they didn't send you to jail, but if you break probation they can extend your probation or even send you to rehab, jail whatever, they own your piss. count yourself lucky that your not a racial minority, because the judges like to fuck minorities.

blah blah blah, it hurts.. waaaaah, medical marijuana. you have access to other avenues of pain medication. so get it from prescriptions or dont, and wait until you can toke legally.

so even if you have a medical card... it would be a breach of your probation to piss positive for marijuana, because you signed off on that probation deal. you made a deal not to smoke.

also, im pretty sure probate court is federal. and federal government hasn't legalized weed. even if your california doctor says its medical, doesn't mean that the federal law that dictates the terms of your probation says its legal.

    end rant.

PS-sorry you're on probation for weed, its bullshit. i know, im on it right now and another 1.5 years to go and i haven't smoked at all. stay strong and quit whining about it, no one likes a whiner.

long story i'd rather not tell again..

it had NOTHING to do with me smoking marijuana. i have never been drug tested by probation or the courts, but it came up in the questioning and my dumbass told them i had been smoking for migraines.

if you're not drug tested then why is it relevant... get your card and smoke... if anything, including your PO, fucks with you because of it(including starting to piss test you). then get a lawyer.

the terms of probation, in most cases, is you can breech it by committing a related crime or something prohibited by the terms of your probation. if drug testing isn't a term of your probation you have nothing to worry about in the first place. if it is a related crime then it would definitely be a breech of probation.

good point. there is nothing in my terms of probation stating i can't and nothing about me needing to be drug tested.. YET they do want me to go to NA meetings. i told them i'm not going to go, i did for awhile, but seems NA meetings are (as far as i can tell) just meeting places for hardcore junkies.

yes it is, you cant get addicted to marijuana and you can with oxys. and pills kill your liver and kidneys, they also come with more jailtime

Wow, what part of the country are you in? Im in baltimore MD and my probation is harsh man, I had 2g of marijuana 2 years ago Im still on probation, urinalysis every 2 weeks, drug counseling for 7 months ($850) NA every week, signed and stamped, and I STILL had to sit in jail ???? For less than a eighth of pot man!! I would celebrate the probation you have (not literally) but still, it could be much worse.

Also I hate na also, a bunch of coke heads from the 80s started moking crack, got clean 20 years ago but have nothing better to do so they go to meetings??

    bleh.. Good Luck :)

I am in the same boat in Michigan and my lawyer said that it is up to the PO whether i can use my medication or not. I think that that is just about as stupid as it gets, that's like telling a depressed person hey you can't use Prozac your on probation. But on the other hand if you were charged with a felony the state can revoke your card, so be glad that you just have to get clean once a month and can still legally posses and grow your meds :)
