I've liked William Shatner since his old "Star Trek" days. Unfortunately, he's not the most convincing actor, but that's part of his appeal. Sort of like the "Average Guy" goes Hollywood! As far as his discussion of Canada during the Olympic closing ceremonies, I didn't really learn anything. I loved the exhibition though! There's no way the U.S. would have been able to make fun of its own follies (i.e., the one arm of the Olympic flame malfunctioning during the opening ceremonies) or make fun of its own culture. I loved the giant inflatable moose (I love mooses, and yes, in my world the plural of moose is mooses") and the beavers. I would have liked to see the end, but it went too late and I had to get up the next morning.
Does this mean that the Federation and Starfleet Command headquarters are in Canada? What is the universe coming to? According to the closing ceremonies, my wife and I are two of only about a hundred people on earth who are not originally from Canada. The Shatner philosophy: If you can't do better acting, do more acting.
Come on now, we haven't spread that far yet... lol But just for you; (the page is from 2008 though) from; http://www.fromtherink.com/2008/11/26/673622/the-nhl-by-nationality-52
Did anyone see how William Shatner changed the world, I think it was on the discovery channel or something. It was pretty funny, the hammiest of the hams.

William Shatner's a bit of a cult hero really... He appeared in the world's first [and only, so far as I know]film scripted totally in Esperanto... He starred in that famous Twilight Zone episode, you know - the one with the gremlin thing on the plane's engine... And wasn't he one half of America's first on-screen interracial kiss [ with Lt. Uhuru on Star Trek] ? And lets not forget Bill's musical forays... with Henry Rollins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KM6pYG1DQ4s"]YouTube- William Shatner's Beatnik Cafe - I Can't Get Behind That The man's a star
William Shatner is fantastic. He's always so over the top, that it makes him funny to watch and thus that makes him good. Though overall he's a rather bad actor. One of the things I must admit liking about the man has nothing to do with his acting; but his singing. His version of Rocket Man is brilliant, and only equalled by the rendition they did on Family Guy with Stewie singing the song as William Shatner did. It wasn't a surprise that he was Canadian, though I'd forgotten as he spends so much time in the States, you start assuming he is from there.
