It's still weird seeing a fully naked man just wearing black and white wingtip shoes (or so I'm told).
Personally, it's bothered me to wear shoes while nude. It seems uneven somehow... it's like wearing shoes to sleep.
Well here's another take from a decades-long nudist. If you go bushwalking naked, as I do, shoes and socks are not silly, but a wise investment against sole/foot injury. True, you could wear sandals on a 10km return walk, but shoes provide extra support and comfort on uneven terrain. On my naked bushwalks, shoes and socks are a requirment as protection over occasionally wet, slippery or rocky terrain. Any other time, nudists in the house wearing shoes and socks is naff. Right now I'm naked in the studio with just sandals on as I have terracotta tiles which are a little cool underfoot.
Hi, i guess the aborigines do bushwalking in their bare feet (maybe i'm wrong?). So probably your soles just need some more training ;-) I do hiking barefoot often, and it's a wonderful experience. But i don't know if the trails e.g. of the Vosges mountains are comparable with the down under outback. Take care.
Well *pixy*, sticks, stones, bindi-eyes (extremely annoying, multi-pointed small thorns)...myriad other hazards, are present in the Australian outback. Aborigines are well adapted and knowledgeable to it and many do wear thongs unless fishing. But aborigines also have serious health problems like diabetes, epilepsy, skin infections and untreated wounds. The kids being literal free spirits don't wear any footwear (and a lot of the time nothing else!). Swing the pendulum the other way, to rainforests, and you come into an an entirely different and more hostile place with leeches the biggest trouble (once they latch on and start a bleed, the bleeding won't stop!). Naked bushwalks are terriific fun, but sensible consideration must be exercised with footwear especially, so I strongly recommend shoes and socks, and sometimes even gaiters. Where particularly are the Vosges Mountains??
Hi, thank you for the detailed explanation. I didn't think it's this way dangerous there, as i only have the pictures of barefoot walking aborigins in my mind. Of course it's quite reasonable to have some footwear under this conditions. I'm no one who claims for barefooting or anything else if the circumstances don't fit. Anyeway, i think it's great to hear that they let their kids run free of ballast. You really know about the Vosges? There is no certain place i prefer, but usually i frequent the nothern and mid parts, as they are not so far from my home (like the black forest and the palatinate woods as well). It's not such a big deal to go barefoot there, as the most "dangerous" things are sweet chestnuts, beechnuts and blackberry tendrils. Btw. i also did some naked hiking there, on less frequented trails. Also years ago in the Cevennes mountains in France with my then bf. Great experiences! Take care.
Blackberry tendrils are the arch enemy of nudist bushwalkers! Getting tangled up on these things is quite nasty — even tripping over tendrils creeping at ground level! Chestnuts, on the other hand, are a delight; one my naked bushwalk routes passes through an old chestnut plantation planted by early pioneers more than a century ago, and the trees still produce. So we stop there and lie in the shade nibbling fallen chestnuts, often taking some home to roast them. Mmmm.
I have had a major foot injury which has resulted in two reconstructive surgeries and a potential 3rd. Because of this I am stuck wearing a very stiff sole hiking shoe/boot with a steel insole insert and orthotic for the rest of my life. I am happy to just be able to walk again (they didn't think I would - amazing what crushing 7 bones will do to you). So when I go nude, unless at a beach, I have to wear the damn shoes.
I also don't understand it!Whats not nice about bare feet?I find, and no insult intended, that in the states barefooting makes folks squirm, why can yanks not like barefooting, and why thje sneaker over drive?Barefooting is wonderfull!I grew up barefoot .
I squirm at the mere thought of wearing shoes of any kind!I couldn't imagine being naked and wearing shoes!YUK!!I cannot even bare the sight of shoes in my uniform! USA folks are really soft footies, yet, after only a weeks barefooting, feet already toughen!Bing bare foot when naked makes it much more pleasurable.I grew up barefoot OUT AND BY CHOICE,and having been in a country town school, bare feet were the norm, and a status symbol, and the teachers did not approve of the kids wearing shoes, and. Forbade shoes at school,it was either barefeet,or a hiding and then barefoot. The reason they were so adamant on the bare foot issue, was because ,being barefoot was part of the school dress code,it read..."Shoesupils attend school barefoot,as the school can not take responsibility for the los and/or damage to pupils shoes.Only by special concession (emge(e.g.diabetis,supported by two doctors certificates and a school clinic letter of recommendation) may pupils wear shoes...". As a country boy,we spent most of our leisure time naked any way,and wearing any form of shoes when naked was viewed as stupid, silly and most frowned upon.Swim periods were mostly in the nude, even at the local dam iN town, where the boarding school kids frequented on weekends with the "parent" teacher, and (a)you could wear slops, but was encouraged to go barefoot.Wearing of shoes when out of school was alright, seeing that no dress code for "playing clothes" were suggested, just as long as it was neat,eg not a mix of clashing colors,or over sized, but barefoot was encouraged, unlike being enforced at school. (B)you could swim, either naked(which was the choice in general)but then you had to be barefoot! You could choose to wear a swim trunk/brief,and then could wear slops. (C)around the dorm at bed time or shower time, you could wear clothes/pajamas and slippers or slops, but if you choose to be naked(and most of us slept in the nude),you had to be barefoot, that was the rule! The teachers and head master argued that it was more decent to be barefoot when naked, and that wearing shoes when naked was clearly UGLY!Until today,I hail their view. I guess tahts why I cannot reconcile shoes and socks when one is naked .Apart from the fact that some choose it. Like that,I must ad that it really looks stupid,no matter whatever feeble excuses people use...if your feet are to soft,MAN UP,get them tuff, begin walking bare feet...if the surfaces are dirty and germs brood there, believe me,you brethe in more germs than those found on the ground,And even with dirty pitch black soles, there Are the exact same bugs you pick up just touching your car,if you fear thorns and glass,JUST LOOK WHERE YOU TROT,but for the love of god...do not wear shoes and socks when you are naked...it realleeeeey looks down-right ugly and thoughrally stupid and utterly silly!
It depends on circumstance. When hiking you often need to wear shoes or even boots especially on rough ground. When on the beach and swimming only wear beach shoes when necessary. The essential point is that feet often need protection from other surfaces whereas the rest of your body does not generally come into contact with other surfaces and so does not need such protection. Of course going barefoot is preferred but you do need to be pragmatic.
On German TV, a commercial for an online shoes and fashion order service currently makes fun of that image, when a fully-clothed mailman nervously walks across a nudist camping site, delivering a parcel containing high-heels to two nude women, who scream with happiness at receiving those fashionable foot coffins, only to be confronted by the nude camping site owner and a group of nudists, saying to "take 'em off", not referring to the shoes, but to the mailman's clothes. The commercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHaBIWNsALw"]YouTube - Zalando Werbung Neu 2011 [HQ] High Quality Nackt FKK Spot Camping Platz uncensored longer version‏ At least, a lot of the nudists in that spot are shown barefoot. Wiggling bare toes, also when nude, ~*Ganesha*~
When you are a barefooter, like I am,your feet become very tuff, and you can negotiate almost any surfaces as. A barefoot person,I can comfortably walk across stony surfaces,as well as thorny surfaces .The more you walk bare foot, the tougher your feet become.I have often hiked days on end over stony and rocky surfaces, and had no problem ,It just takes discipline to harden your feet,And no matter how you look at it,bare foot is pragmAtic.
I like shoes on my feet so id be the exception that id be wearing shoes and socks if im still naked. Im still naked so i dont see why i shouldnt still be comfy
When nude I'm total nude. Bare ass and bare foot are the only way to be nude. I hike nude and barefoot in the woods and it feels so great.
