Yep, cuz we sure all know how well legislation kept gangsters from making booze and carrying tommy guns during prohibition right? I mean folks nowdays are so much more law abiding than they were in the 1930's & 40's.

As if I was being serious. Gun ownership is practically a religion in the U.S. It'll take a far more profound religious awakening to displace it which doesn't seem likely any time soon.. There's really no choice (at present) but to live with these occurences (and, for some, to die by them).
