Actually. Peter is the designated steward. The split happened before tradition ever began.

I can imagine why a protestant would bash catholic christianity for many reasons. It does not matter now that the Catholic church was the roots of the reformed church. Who can take the pope seriously for real?

Christs church was to feed people, not produce worthy fruit.
It is not even on the tree.

Also the idea of priests between the people and god. Absurd in my opinion.

There is a 2 fold problem when looking to history , the bible or the past for answers. It is the point of view of the story teller and the point of view of the person hearing the story. Example, they told me in high school that Columbus discovered America. Yes, in his eyes he found America. But in the eyes of the people that lived here he did not discover shit. Now that history looks back we realize that he did not discover shit.

The only way that the bible can help you with history or understanding the past is if you believe that God pulled out his magic wand and altered the laws of physics time and time again.

Can you imagine what it would have been like if the bible really showed us the way. Back when we thought the earth was flat - we read the bible and learn that the earth revolves around the sun and learn about all the wonders of science . Then we would believe and look to the bible for answers . But what has really happened is the bible and the church have stopped the growth of knowledge time and time again and kept us persecuted in the dark ages for far too long until we are forced to say enough.

The fruit we taste is our own. We do not taste through an others mouth.
not what goes into the mouth that defiles but what comes out. Are we to say confusion is the result of truth. I would think Paul apologetic.

That idea seems less weird to me. I can imagine and respect if someone chooses to form their life on that thought.

Here is an absurd thought God puts man in a paradise garden and tells him he can eat from any tree. But no this one don’t even touch it.

With what we know about human nature - or the behavior of a kid. All they are gonna think about is that one tree.

Here kid you can play with any toy in the room only not this toy don’t even touch it. What toy do you think the kid is drawn too.

Strange but not as absurd in terms of how people lived their christian life when they all had to accept the fact that without a priest they could not live it well. In fact, they could not even go to heaven. Of course there are enough things in protestant christianity that I also have trouble with but it's easier to take seriously and respect.

That story shouldn't be taken literally, in my humble opinion.

Yes, but if you start switching from literal to metaphoric interpretation you can make believe anything you want. Hell I could translate betty corkers cook book into the meaning of life.

What point do you think I am dodging? Do I think the fruit is rotten? No, it is not even fruit. Do I think all of this is because of him, no, Christ, meaning the anointed authority, does not cause confusion. The authority, clarifies.

I'm afraid that's indeed how it is, however with a cook book it may be more difficult.
