    Hello, Californians. :)
I'm an underage one from Michigan.
I live on a highway, under the roof of a Jesus-obsessed cat-loving woman.
Who claims she loves me, but really could care less.
So, I want to move out into the far West.
And California has so much history to it....it's perfect. :)
So, would someone be kind to mention a good city for me?
I mean, I'll have to sell a lot of my art before I can even get my ass out on the road.
But, I do want to get out SOMEWHERE.
    So, a good, small town?
    I do appreciate it.
    :)

Northern California has tons of cute small towns. One Hippy-Dippy one that I love is Mendocino. But it's not the kind of California your thinking of. If you want lots of warm whether move to Southern California. I live in Napa. It's not the worst, but there are many tourists and nothing to do for those of us under the drinking age. But it's only about 45 minutes from San Francisco which is such a great city.

I live in San Diego (So Cal). I grew up in Northern California. It's really fast paced here in San Diego but there are beautiful beaches and a lot to do. Northern California is a little more laid back and probably has some more down to earth people. There are cool people here as well, but it's just kind of a different culture. Both have their suburbs and little towns, and some ghettos that surround the larger cities. My advice is do not move to Los Angeles, San Diego is 2 hours away from it so you can still visit disneyland or hollywood or whatever if you wanted but I despise going to and through L.A.

Eventhough they both have a little of everything I think San Diego excels in terms of it's beaches and sunsets, San Francisco excels in terms of it's scenery (Trees, Camping, hiking etc) It's really up to what you prefer and feel free to ask me more questions.

dont be hitch hiking take a bus.. altho, california is right on the San Andreas Fault line and with all these earthquakes happening everywhere.. it is not the safest place to be.

Utah, up by the Snake River will be the only safe place when it happens.

Just a thought, not trying to put cali down. I was rasied in SoCali and I loved it. But it will go under, it's just a matter of time now, you will never know untill the moment it happens. Your sittin on an active volcano.

    Peace Out

Yeah they are pretty good, but sooo expensive. If you are gonna spend that much money on a Burger, go to Angel for lunch right down by sweety pies and the river and try one of their burgers. I think that's probably the yummiest burger I've ever eaten. I don't usually go to fancy places like that cause I'm on a budget though.

I say Santa Cruz or San Diego if just starting out! Depending on how your tryin to live, you can get a broad feel of two cool Cali spots with a good bit of diversity.

The small town feel with San Diego goes up until you start driving highways.... otherwise it's like a suburban small city, with a sick layout of Beach-side, Border crossing, Heat loving times and locations with a general mix of people. It has the nations largest Naval Port, so a good bit of military, but plenty of cool down to earth beach/ocean/bon-fire/concert/art/nature loving people. Work can be difficult, but I say every town has a way!

Santa Cruz is a bit outside SF that's great for those more into the rainy moist feel of the northeast Appalachian mountains areas, but flooded with the hip culture/look/feel/vibe of California. Good place for the hippies, as well as the townies or people who want good access to everything in a decent range to get an idea of what they like. It seems to have a better appreciation for green living, community build and supporting, with plenty of options for a entertainment. Not sure about work unless your willing to thing very broadly of what you can do. Lots of short term, unstable jobs, and I hear it's easy to get by up north, but not so much to build yourself up right away unless you know how.

Def. good places to start, but there's def. all soo much more!~enjoy~!
