How my friend almost died

Me and my 2 buddies Scott and Jake were playing some bball with a bunch of others at a park. Jake is a recovering heroin addict(clean for 6 months) decided that today was the day to relapse. He called our old connect who just got out of jail, they meet up and he buys a 40 bag. As were in the middle of a game, he leaves to go do his dope in the gas station's bathroom across the street. So as were playing, i feel the need to take a piss, and mind as well check on my buddy. I knock on the door, takes a second then lets me in. He jus had gotten done doing his "shot", and is starting to get the rush.

As it hits him, he immediatly fell on the floor, turned purple as Barney, and stopped breathing. I start FREAKING out as my best friend is dieng in front of me. I immediatly start throwing water on him but it wasnt doing anything. He was gone. I call 911, run back to get my friend Scott. Im screaming YO JAKE IS DIENG MAN GET THE FUCK OVER HERE HELP PLEASE"(Cuz Scott knows CPR). Everybody who was playing ball ran up to the gas station. Me and Scott run in the bathroom as fast as we could hoping it isn't too late. Scott starts giving him mouth-to-mouth and pumping his chest. It started working, Jake started coughing and his heart started to beat. FINALLY the EMT's and firetrucks came. They ran in, shot him up with narcane, and he slowly came back. He got taken out in a stretcher(sitting up).

If I didnt get that sudden urge to check on him, and Scott didnt know CPR, im sure Jake wouldnt be here man. It all happend yesterday and im still traumatized by what happend and will be for longer. Scariest day of my life.

Dude if you knew your best friend was about to shot up and he's a recovering addict, why didn't you try and keep him from doing it?

I'm glad he's okay though, I would have freaked the fuck out.

It probaby happened because he was used to Doing a larger ammount- when he had tolerance to it.

 

Of course I tried, im a recovering junkie as well. He chose to buy it man im just glad he didnt die.

 

Even though he turned blue, he still had a little while. I have seen people do this exact thing at festivals shooting up too much H. I was at the med tent and the HA guy was like "Haha, you're lucky you came too, I was thinking we were going to have to drag you into the woods" I was high on a head full of psychedelics and freaked out thinking if anything happened to me I would be drug out in the woods to die.. That dude was blue as fuck, and for about 30 mins before he woke up.

Maybe your friend will quit for good now..

 

I hope so. It was crazy because it took the EMT's like 10 minutes to get there. I thought he was going to get brain damage atleast.

Hes retarded, and this kids shit was always primo crazy killa dope, so theres no excuse he should have known better. He used to do like 3 bags a day, so he thought he could handle a half bag, but was dead wrong because he had no tolerance.

 

Thank you TNS, and your right i got a 20x bigger rush from that experience alone than any opiate ive ever done.

Wow.. that's crazy shit. I'm sorry you had to go through that, but I'm glad he's ok and he was lucky that you were there to take care of him, good on ya. Hopefully a learned lesson came of that. whew...

 

Good. It was a difficult experience for both of you, but it could very well save his life, as well as your's.

 

I use to be a junkie too. Glad I got clean of that. I havent touched h in years! I hope you and your friend can both get off of it for good. I am very glad he was ok.

My best friend was off and on for over 6 years. I couldn't help him. It's good you were there for him. It's good you learned something from it. You get to see it from the other side-what your friends and family went thru.

That's the type of shit that makes you realize you shouldn't be doing drugs like that and should try really hard to stay off of them. I'm glad you are wanting to get clean and everything. I really hope it works out.

My roommate and good friend a couple years ago almost overdosed on coke and I was there watching the whole thing. She was blue in the face and slumped over her bed, a couple friends and I had to carry her to the bathtub and tried to keep her awake while she was coughing and almost siezing. It was one of the most scariest things I had to witness and it made me not want to ever get into drugs that bad like that. She doesn't do coke anymore, and I dont do it very often, either.

 

Im not sure, but my guess is that hes in rehab since hes MIA.

 

I know exactly watcha mean. Now even thought of going back to that shit makes me sick, I just cant stop thinking about what was rushing through my mind at that very moment.
