I see more arguiing here than me and my ex did before she dropped me! Since being out of her and out of work, I've been barefoot around a lot since the snow cleared up It's been in the 40s and 50s. Feels pretty nice. SOme things God can't take away. Going barefoot to get the dam want ads even makes that not as bad.

Yeah there are some on here who moan at each other like its a contest or something. There used to be some great regulars who you just dont see anymore (its a shame).
However there are folks (the majority I believe) here who share your thoughts and agree that going barefoot just feels good.

I can only speak for myself, but while I love going barefoot because it feels good, that isn't something I post about often. I am not a 'plain chat' kind of person, I'll rarely just post about taking a nice walk, reading a nice book, having a nice dinner... to me that's just not worth posting about. My opinion of course, I don't mind when others post about it, but I think the best use of a *forum* is to discuss things like problems with going barefoot in stores, myths about laws and regulations, how to handle the weather or how to pick out an annoying splinter. A regular, pleasant and uneventful walk is just that -uneventful, and not worth the time of posting about it. I'd rather walk for 5 more minutes than spend 5 minutes typing about it. In a similar way, I sometimes post on a cat forum about health issues, behavioral issues, declawing etc but only rarely about the simple pleasure of petting or playing with my cat or how nice it feels when she curls up against me on the bed at night. I love doing that, but I don't post about it.

But don't take this as criticism, it is only my opinion and the reason why I post as I do. I think one thing we sometimes forget is that there really is no 'we'; we're all different in our preferences, the one and only thing we all share is that we like to go barefoot. As I recently said in another thread, I don't read everything posted here, I don't feel bothered by the threads I don't like. By all means do post about a nice spring hike, or the first time the tiles of the sidewalk feel warm underfoot again or whatever. You want more posts like that, write them! :peace:

I agree with you. All I meant was there's a freakin lot of arguing on this site but I guess that's what comes of people having different ideas.

Yes it does feel good. And people do it for different reasons. But you're right the bottom line it makes you feel good. I agree there has been arguments and I am probably way guilty, but that's because it is a different reason for everyone and it seems that telling people what they should be doing, or more why they should (why it is acceptable and maybe why a person is not doing the acceptable), wasn't cool. That was my thing and why of late I had begun to think maybe I should punt the barefoot thing altogether. But I probably won't.

You're so right, Myranya. We don't care if you had a nice walk, read a good book, smiled at a child or enjoyed your dinner. Goodie for you! I just come here to read about gripes, tales of harassment, what people stepped in and so on. It reminds me of the nice walk I did not take, the bad meal I just ate and the nice book they didn't have at the library.:) And, of course, my bad sense of humor that sometimes takes over.......

I like reading stories of pleasant and joyful experiences. Enrichens our days...Have A Nice Day!

Since I was kicked in the ass twice real bad---my ex and my job---going around barefoot is about what I have left I can enjoy. Nice weather is on it's way back. I don't make excuases for it. It's what I do. I thought I could find some people who enjoyed it like me. I've had enuff freakin attitude these past weeks.

No, no, that's not what I said, that I thought/felt no one was interested in reading it... I said *I* am not the person who enjoys *posting* about everyday stuff. Back when I was a kid I knew very well that my mom enjoyed hearing about my day in school even if it was all routine, but she rarely got more than a 'oh, fine' when she asked me how my day had been. It's not even that I don't like to *read* (or hear) other people's everyday stories, but I get total writers block when someone asks me 'how was your day'. And since fortunately it's not essays for school or work, I don't get a grade and I don't get paid for it, I don't write those kind of posts even if the entire world wanted to read them. Sorry. :p

I understood what Myranya was trying to say- basically explaining the reason why there are more posts about the controversies and laments and fewer posts talking about how it "feels good" and stuff like that. This is true in most forums- usually the most provocative thoughts incite conversation. But yeah, I think we call all agree there is nothing wrong with reminding everyone once in a while that the one thing we all share in common is that it feels better to go barefoot than to wear shoes.

A constructive discussion - how refreshing! Sometimes it is so worthwhile to trade places - the technical, the argumentative, the controversial (and others) - considering the simple basic pleasures. Going barefoot feels good - all of the time. Thanks Steven and the other great contributors here.
