I have a 7 year old pindo palm in my backyard that tilts at an 85 degree angle.

It is 8 feet tall, and approximately 6 feet in girth.

It sits behind a small concrete waterfall decoration that is part of my swimming pool.

The roots only rise above the surface slightly.

Should I replant it? Can it be done by myself, or with a few friends? How deep and wide should I dig for an appropriate root ball for the palm?

    Thanks.

When you say 85 degrees, do you mean 5 degrees off of straight up, or 5 degrees off the ground? And from what you said, I figure the trunk is about 2 feet in diameter, is that right?

Either way, it is a very valuable tree. A 5 foot tall tree, in a pot, sells for about $400.

Try to get a local tree care or maintenance specialist to come out and give you a free estimate about how much they would charge to do the job. If you can, then "pump" them for information. What would be involved, how big of a hole, chances for the tree to survive, etc., and of course cost.

    $400 eh?

My mother hates the damn thing, would it be possible to sell it?

So far, i just think I will dig deep and wide enough for a decent rootball, and dig a deeper hole and plop it back into the ground.

The pindo tilts 5 degrees below 90 degrees. A slight tilt.

Ill try and get a pic in if I can today.

    Thanks for the response though.
