I'm an old guy who's enjoyed running around naked for as long as he can remember. I first heard about nudism, with my non-nudist sibs and parents, watching a game show on which one of the guests owned a nudist camp. I knew I was not alone. The summer after ninth grade, a friend and I would skinny dip on a big sandbar in Crooked Creek, building canals, and firing tennis ball cannons made from pop cans and firecrackers. I went naked at a couple of minor rock festivals. As an adult, I belonged with my wife and son to the Oakwood Club in Minnesota, but two seasons told us that time and travel weren't practical. I was sad. I'm completely lebensreform, a permaculturist and transition towner, and would like to design a Garden of Eden for a nudist club or family.
I posted never. That is one of the sad facts of life. Don't get me wrong, I would kill to see the day when society was more open... but i just don't think I will ever see it.
I agree with Toka Boka. Even with an 'in your face' display of nudity such as Melbourne's part of the World Naked Bike Ride on Sunday 21st, society still has a ridiculous amount of hang-ups with nudity. Most of the world is still stuck in the quaint, old world Victorian era where even the sight of bare ankles or shoulders are still frowned upon.
I voted never only because there are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many special interest groups with plenty of lobbyist money to make sure it will never happen. I would love to be able to go naked anywhere or anytime I chose, and I believe as humans we should have that right, at least on all public property and personal property. I also believe that anyone who has a problem with it can ban nudity on THEIR OWN property if they so choose.
I voted for More people might visit nudist venues if they were more convenient. I could see that and maybe nude swimming/sun bathing, but that's about as far as I see it going.
