or send you to your principal? Just a question. Cause they dont know if you smokes, you could have went around people that were skmoking or your parents could smoke or anything. Should they be able to write you up? Or send you to the office? Or even tell campus police. Im in high school and I have a biology teacher who ALWAYS smells it. And she threatened to send this one guy in our class to the office, she didnt, but wanted to. She is cool though. Haha a blunt fell out of his pocket one day and she just gave him extra homework, but anyways off subject.
I think they have to find a person either in possession or actually smoking the herb to do much about it, otherwise you might just be guilty by association. I would say your teacher is a little harsh smelling it then wanting to report it, but in this one gentleman's case I think she hit the nail on the head- considering a joint fell out of his pocket. He is lucky he didn't get in some serious shit- or, like my old Photography teacher, 'confiscate' it
Yeah, it was two ifferent days. Haha. I had an old art teacher that did stuff like that. Who would take it. She was a super hippie, always had been.
in my old high school if they smelled it they would report you and send you down to the office and have you searched by campus pigs [who were literally pigs, all fat and greasy like :ack2:] it all depends;some schools are majorly strict and others not so much.
Legally, I don't think they can punish you for smelling like weed, they have to find you in possesion of weed. But I'm really glad you posted this thread;I don't smoke, but I live with someone who dous. I could get in trouble at school for smelling like pot and it's entirely not my fault.
just last week, this kid in my english class got sent to the office for smelling like weed and they searched his car and found a ton of shit and he got expelled. it was his 4th quarter of senior year. the cop didnt even have the right to search his car though. if the kid in my class had known his rights a little better he wouldnt have gotten in trouble.
Legally, they can't. In the first amendment, there's a 'search and seizure' clause- basically, it says that they can't search you or your belongings without a damn good reason/warrant from a judge. I think that simply smelling weed isn't a very good reason, it doesn't prove that you were smoking. Hell, you could have simply walked past a few smokers on your way to school, and the smell stayed on your clothes. However, a lot of teachers take this too far when they smell weed, they automatically think that you're the one who was smoking it. There was a kid, earlier in the year, who was caught smoking. I'm not sure if it was on school grounds or not, but either way, he got expelled. I think that here, if you're caught smoking anywhere, including in your own home, you're at least suspended. Pretty shitty system, isn't it? And way surprising for a liberal town like mine.
i cant say much about this subject: he he i went to high school buzzed out i even once went to school full of ludes he he he but once i got out from under my parents I saw the light. Why waste any of your weed while in school? save for after you have finished studying and really enjoy the buzz?
There are many ideas from you and i agree some.Teachers, some of them, help you for sometimes, but revenged.
Yeah they can. It's illegal... If a cop suspects that you have weed in your car he can search it. If you smelled like alcohol they'd do the same though. From your parents or not. Just be happy it's a teacher. Not a cop.
