Ok so in the summer of 2008 a friend and myself were having a cheap party type holiday in france, there was a lot of dangerous moments during this holiday but the last one really got me worried. The two of us met up with another friend in paris and we got a train to la Havre (town north of paris) to see a manu chao concert. It was an amazing concert to say the least. Since we had no money for a hostel in la Havre and the next train to paris was at 6am the next morning, we slept outside the station. We all smelled like stale sweat, smoke and beer, our clothes were filthy, we were on an ecstasy come-down and the three of us felt as shitty as we looked. So we actually just sat outside the station in the cold all night until the first train. On the journey to paris we looked and smelled like shit compared to the business looking people on the train with us. we got shameful looks, we were mostly avoided as much as possible. The train eventually arrived in paris. But everything had just started for us by then as we were met by four french cops waiting specifically for us! The colour drained from my face and I felt sick because I had some weed and ecstasy pills in my back pocket and if they were found, I wasn't going to be getting my flight home later that night. So they started talking in french (which none of us spoke) and started emptying our pockets. when we asked what was going on, they only said "control". They didn't find my stash during their pat-down, We thought it was over. But then they lead us to a sort of mini police station and put us in our individual cells. They were going to give us a full body search... During this time I was only aware what was going on with me because I had the drugs. they removed my hoody and searched it on a table before searching under my upper body. then they gave my hoody back and the cop searching me turned around for a brief moment to pick up some latex gloves. In this brief moment i managed to remove my small baggie of drugs from my back pocket and stuff it into my sleeve without being seen. I was then turned around and my hands put against the wall so they could search my lower half, they searched everywhere down there including between my toes and under my foreskin. When the search was over they shouted at us in french for a while, asking questions etc. then we were made sign something in french which we didn't understand and we were set free. They had la police watching us during our journey back to the hostel. Then we were really free. First thing we did in the hostel was smoke a well deserved joint before relaxing in the courtyard until it was time to leave france completely. Thats my worst experience with foreign poliece. I hope I didn't bore anybody
That's fucked. They completely took advantage of you. I don't understand why they were so sure you had drugs? And you couldn't defend yourself at all if you can't speak the language.

Still, it's a bit rediculous that someone would call the police just because someone looks a certain way, then have them arrested...
The police in Paris are very serious, much more so than the ones I have met in the UK. No, it's not very fair, but that's how some people are.
That was one big fucked up experience. Police think they have the right to do what the want, and usual fucking do ,fuck them.
