Remember when Nightmare Before Christmas came out and it was a total flop? (at least around my way it was) I think I was 6 or 7 when it came out, I fucking loved it and either no one else had heard about it, or they thought it was stupid. I can't stand it now that it's so overhyped (used to work at Hot Topic and it was EVERYwhere for like 5 years) and since Johnny Depp and Tim Burton and Danny Elfman have all been humping each other... go figure..
The Thief and the Cobbler, the Pebble and the Penguin, Beauty and the Beast, and Baby's Day Out... and probably Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Wow, a bunch of kids are here at present. OK, when I was a kid you only saw movies in the theater (unless they were 30s & 40s era movies on B&W TV). No DVD no VHS tapes, just the movie house. So, my favorite movies when I was a kid were War of the Worlds (1953) and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954). I had to be older than I was on these movie release dates, so I suspect the movies were re-released to the neighborhood theaters years later. OH, I have both on DVD now and was amazed at how completely I remembered them.
We are from the same era,Shale. For me ,it was 12 cents and in I went. Wizard of OZ,Bambi,Fantasia and great cartoons is what I recall.
Are you talking about "Little Nero"? The one where the kid flies on his bed? I loved that movie as a kid
