My psychonaut compadres. Have you ever wondered why we are PERSECUTED for the substances we imbibe? Have you ever searched or wondered why?

The reason we are punished is because we do not stand up and let people know the truth. That smoking the occasional point, or popping the occasional pill isn't the be all and end all of life. But I digress: here is why I believe ALL drugs should be legal. Discuss.

Not clicking it. All drugs should not be legal.

I mean, it's not like you can even count on all the weak and stupid to OD themselves like good citizens in any effective fashion.

Aside for social darwinism, there is no reason to legalize all kinds of drugs in this society. Maybe the next age, but not this one.

Don't get me wrong, I love drugs. And I'm pro-pot legalization. But tell me... what GOOD would come from legalizing everything? Honestly, how would it make the world a better place if everyone can get just as fucked out of their skull as they feel like whenever they feel like?

But this is coming from the person who things the pharmaceutical industry is destroying humanity.

    Of course they should be.

Just because drugs are legal would NOT make most people go take drugs, who do not now. And just like in places like the netherlands, it would effectivley make drugs boring and not anti-establishment. People will get fucked up, sure, but people get fucked up now, the difference is there would be no leech of a law enforcement and treatment system, and there could be effective treatment instead of imprisonment.

I'm ignorant compared to you forum drug users. Isn't that that chemical that is in like many many different random ass plants?

I saw a documentary about medicine men in south america. They had these shamans who had to go through several very hard trips to become a healer. What they took was D something... is that the same thing you're talking about? They got it out of some plant.

Like I said, excuse the ignorance.

Um, for starters a massive reduction in prison population and probably a near end to all gang violence in the United States and Canada? Watch out murder rate become that of a normal first world country all night. Good people will no longer have criminal records or be in prison.

Not to mention health, so many deaths of loved ones could be prevented through education and a drug market where the drugs are actually properly regulated vs cut down with god knows what.

And what is with the assumption if drugs were legal people would just do them all the time. People have no problem getting drugs right now and people aren't shooting up dope all day, every day. In fact most people I've ever known who shot up dope also held down a job. Look at Dutch, they have a lower consumption of every drug compared to America, well compared to numerous countries. Portugal decriminalized all drugs 9 years ago and began to focus on drug treatment and drug use of all drugs in that country have fallen dramatically.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/markeaston/2009/07/how_portugal_treats_drug_addic.html

Not to mention the money saved by ending the drug war coupled with the tax revenue from the sale of drugs, which could then be used to treat drug problems vs sending people to prison.

So to sum up, THERE IS NO REASON NOT TO LEGALIZE ALL DRUGS

They take jobs as tax enforcers for the new drug selling regulation agency. IRS isn't as fun a job but then again the DEA I think ruins more lives then the IRS, so maybe they deserve it.
