I was wondering what peoples favorites places are to seek 'quietness'? Mine is the Oregon Coast. It's so wonderful and pristine. Everything 'town' related is slowed down alot, and everyone is so nice. The beach, if you go a further south of Seaside, is spectacular. It is not like beaches elsewhere in the world. All of Oregon's 364 miles, give or take, of coast-line is free to public use, at all times. Now if you are driving, you do have to pay to park, but I dont, I take the bus from Portland, and bike, which is free. You can kinda camp on the beach as long as your not adjacent to a state park, or property, which there is plenty of. You can if fact camp in front of property on the beach because the property owners cannot own the beach, only where the land begins. But it is shunned upon, and I do not do it out of respect and because I find it weird camping around strange people. So what are your favorite places?
i enjoy going up to kings canyon backpacking and enjoying what mother nature has given us.its so beautiful i was thinking bout becoming a ranger and being stationed there.i love it so much
I have a couple. I have a spot on a hiking trail that is on my property, it us a tree that has a small base but then grew in the shape of a u , so it is a perfect seat to meditaite. The other is near the end of the hiking train you come up to the top, it is bed rock and you have a beautiful view can see forever and can see these beautiful mountains. it is a great rest spot and so beautiful. The last is at a lake my parnter and i camp. last year we went for three weeks, snady beach warm water and just us. Si great. ate blueberries every morning and fish for luch and dinner. loved it
I'm kinda jealous of all the vast environments you got in the US. Dunno, everything is bigger.. I live in a country with the most inhabitants/square km , everything is near eacht other..
We camped in a little marsh/swamp type of place in Brugge, bit of a shit hole to be honest  Belgium seemed alright...a bit suburbanised though if that makes sense. Id have to say the woods in Courtmacsherry, I grew up there pretty much and theyre right behind my nans house: Really good place to chill or walk the dog...she always goes mental running around the trees
My peaceful spot can be found near the bottom of a bottle of jack. no just kidding. Its probably chapel rock in mich U.P.
There's this spot in the Superstition Mountains here in Arizona. Its about a mile or two from where you park. You go up steep incline and you end up at this flat, dried river bed that dried up years ago. The waterfall just empties into a small puddle at the base, the sounds, sights and vibe of the place are all one thing its amazing. Its the only place I'd want to show her.
ahhh, I love canada its all so beautiful. (loosely speaking) wanted to add to your rep for posting that great photo, but uhh yeah, would be just a drop in zeee bucket for ya my man haha
Mine is the Oregon Coast too! My favorite spot is Port Orford or Florence. My other favorite spot is the Kalmiopsis Wilderness in Southern Oregon.
Anywhere I can hear and feel the quiet. Luckily the area right at the back of my house serves the purpose.
I like to find Peace, in my mind’s eye, though the hole in my shoe makes it difficult to ramble on the long and winding road to the Green river. Still within the Norwegian wood is the Rose garden where all the young dudes dance in sunshine of your love Just me then < Peace + Love ~ Save the Planet >
