That's one thing that I really hate. Churches are the ones who spout hatred and insist to followers that it was God wants. So while horrible things are happening in the name of God, the heads of the Church will never be blamed or punished for it. Yet, if I went out and started shouting to people on street corners that all Christians are wrong, I'm pretty sure there would be consequence's. Yet, the pope can stand there and say gay people are wrong, abortion is wrong, it's ridiculous.

 

I also hate it when the catholic church messes up and then people generalize Christians with what catholics are messing up with....

theirs a very big differences become what the Vatican is doing then from a protestant churches are doing...

But why do Catholics vote in the secular bias without resoning thier faith? Does this principle need to be defended? Catholicism claimed it never had a tthocratic valued society, but the secular individual essentially in His vote can always claim his clelebrating tradtiions to vote by. Come on.

Well, I think all churches are as bad as each other, but on this occasion I was just talking about the Pope and the Catholic church. The head of the CoE is just as bad it seems.

We conclude n this case of propriety, that the will is not a spiritual leader. In some case of lving organisms it would be. However, why I hesitate to give that to the pope is that He may be needing assistance.

No I am not angry with you in the least. In time things are tragic. Time however will end. The karmic wheel, or attraction of guilt is tempting, but the final analysis shows giving and receiving to be the same truth, not reciprocal acts.

 

Badfish, most of the cases here in the US concerned individuals well over the age of "4." Are you saying that '4' is the avg, or typical, age where parents leave their kids alone with priests? I didn't think so. Is this 4 yr old coming forward years later for damages, or was there substantial proof established at the time?

How do you know that this child screamed during the act? Did you witness this? If others were on hand to see it, why are they not held as equally culpable? A "report" is Not evidence; it is merely a case of he-said, she-said, i.e. inadmissable gossip.

BF: This was systematic corporal punishment and rape.

Do children ever complain to parents, etc. if another adult (teacher, neighbor, et al) strike them? You bet your sweet ass they do. Take your 4 year old to a dentist some time and see if she dares to complain. Or, are you saying that the families were complicit? Give me a break.

BF: If you believe any of the cases uncovered by the report was in any way consentual then you really have no idea just what happened.

NS: You're right, I don't "know" what happened. But, I do know that you are only reporting the claims of others, and "know" no more about what actually happened (regard consent, or commissions) anymore than I do.

Use your God given reason, and knowledge of human behavior, before extending malicious gossip as if it were unchallenged fact. Or, give it a test: offer a kid some candy if they promise not to tell their parents. Then slap the little sucker hard, and tell them not to tell anyone. See which gets reported 'promptly' to Mr. Murphy.
