LOL!! 'killed them' no, I just realised parents aren't supposed to like your hair. And it doesn't matter if they do or not. They're not going to kick me out, they want me to get a job tho which is cool I should have one. Save up and go to AMSTERDAM! hells ya... or move to BC like i've always dreamed. It's cool, sometimes in this house everyone hates each other and then other days it's all good again. Just the hell days are the ones where I make threads like this, when it's really bad.

old people complain about EVERYTHING...and it just keeps getting worse because after a while they forget they complained and just keep repeating it because they think its a new complaint.

My mom swore to me she would never hassle me about my hair no matter what because her mom forced her to cut her hair short and perm it and it traumatized her. So luckily I was always allowed to have my hair how I wanted it with no comments.

I usually just point out that my 8 year old is not going to a job interview, so I don't care if his hair is messy or needs cutting.

given you're 19 years old? i dont blame your parents for feeling the way they do, they could be nicer about it though....

fact is, you're an adult now- who should be able to take care of themself, maybe your parents feel as if they have failed because you havent spread your wings to fly yet and maybe their anger they put on you is really frustration with themselves?

why would you even want to stay somewhere youre not wanted?

furthermore why wouldnt you want to be out in this world on your own?

youre a big girl, time to start acting like one.

p.s. what role do YOU have in the in home hostility? are you responsible for any of it? or are you just a victim?

That's easy join the canadian military and see the top of the world, ma

Canada has recently beefed up recruiting efforts to staff a new army training centre at resolute bay and at its new deep-water port in Nanisivik on Baffin Island.

It would be careless of me to advise in any way shape or form because as soon as I was 18 I was on my own, SUGGESTIONS would be to get out of there and go on your merry way. It may be harder than it sounds (and it is) but you'll be happier for it I'm sure. It sounds like you're not to sure how to do that though. Relax and the answers will come.

I have to comment on this because it is bugging me...this statement sounds like it is coming from spoiled brat. They have 2 adult children! Of course they want a vacation!

Are they supposed to wait until you are 40 before they leave you on your own? And yes, you should look after things while they are away, you don't pay rent and you eat their food.

When my kids are grown up, I am going to party like it's 1999. :D
I totally beat you with a stick. :D

totally agree on that one, there was always a joke in our family that our graduation present from our parents was a set of luggage

i bought my own when i was 16:D

my kids are still little, and while i love them to death I certainly look forward to a vacation without them too!!

So I’m guessing MJB and DM aren’t exactly into the whole extended-family bit where the grandparents are on the 2nd floor, the parents are on the first, and their adult offspring along with spouse and grandkids are lurking around in the finished basement or attic loft :D
