Start now :p just stop brushing, wear wolly hats and put a wolly jumper over your pillow. Stop conditioning and use a residue free shampoo.

By the time you consider your hair to be long enough you will already have dreads :p

    :D

    Welcome anyway :cheers2:

    Hey,
    First post on hipforums, eep.

I'm Tobias, i live in the southwest, uk, 6'2", brown eyes, Leo with the mane to match.

    currently perpetually unemployed......

I enjoy music, sunlight, wind, rain and lightning.

i formulate my own peaceful philosophy and i like to always keep my mind open, but not so open my brain falls out.
You may think i'm away with the faeries from what i've written so far, Lmao...

I don't believe in a god/gods, but i'd like to be able to.

Anyway, i enjoy ingesting plants with psychotropic properties on occasion, growing said plants, star wars, trust and friendship, contrasts, photography and travel(astral planes and aeroplanes).
I'm currently about 6 weeks in to "neglect" dreads. Read the dread FAQ, got my dr B. minus a little ripping/pulling apart near the scalp i'm leaving it to do what it wants.

After four+ years of washing my hair too much and combing religiously I just didn't want to do it any more. chucked the comb and concentrated on my scalp. my hair is very ringlet-y so has formed pretty definitive sections already. also hair is about 18-24" long(when straight!), tapered and lighter(sunbleached) towards tips so should make for some pretty interesting dreads.

blurt over, apologies for length and tangents:rolleyes:

    Peace, forever and everyone

    Hello I am Lindsey and i'm an alco--wait... I'm a dreadhead :p
I think I've posted in this forum before, a long long time ago.
I stopped brushing my hair in October of 2007. I tried backcombing but got sick of it, only got about half my head so some formed quicker than others. Um... no wax.
This forum was a huge inspiration to start dreading.
I enjoy being outside and music and cats and things.
I'm a student of life and a wage slave.
Um that is it I think/

There's no way I'm going to get through reading this whole thread so I'll just jump in and introduce myself. :)

I'm Kareena. I'm in Western Australia and I'm a stay at home mother of two. I've had dreads for about 8 months now and I love them. They were started via the "Sista System" at the Weird Sistas dread bunker in Fremantle (basically, a gentle weaving method) and they're coming along quite nicely IMO. :)

New member, natural dreads...I prefer calling them natural rather than neglect.
I've been going on for four months from a shaved head...
    No recent pictures, sorry. :p
