Morphine Sulfate pill extraction based on codeine extraction at 3rd paragraph, remember this is the sulfate not hydrate form:

Morphine sulfate is supposedly soluble in water 60mg/ml. so lets say I use the below codeine extraction technique but with morphine, making the solution alkaline is necessary right ?but is using the chloroform to extract since theres no tylenol substances in MS. Or do i simply just need to dissolve in cold water while stirring then extract with filtration apparatus? wax would not penetrate that.

    Codeine extraction:
2 grams of Codeine tablets are powdered and mixed with water based on solubility. The mixture is filtered using a filter pump, buchner funnel, and sidearm flask to remove tablet binding agents, diluent, and other material. The aqueous filtrate is poured into a separating funnel and sodium hydroxide solution is added drop-wise to make the solution strongly alkaline. This is then extracted with chloroform(about 50mL). The chloroform layer is drained slightly if necessary and allowed to evaporate to dryness using gentle heating. The aqueous layer containing acetaminophen and paracetamol is discarded. The Codeine base is recovered as a white crystalline solid.
