Hello folks: I just turned 40. I'm married and we have a daughter who is about to go to college. I've been part-time, recreationally "hip" since I was a teen. I went to college at UC Berkeley. Largely "Sober" since July, 2009. Still fascinated by hipness. Enjoying this forum a great deal.

Thanks, Yellowcab. I was drawn deeper into chemical "hipness" last year than I had been in many years. I realized quickly that I was no longer 25 years old and had the body to prove it! Sobriety has come in the form of Suboxone to end a terrible addiction to opiates - and being taken kicking and screaming to AA and finding that I like it! At the 6 month sober mark I took a few minor forays into RC territory. Beyond that I've managed to keep vice at arm's length - thank god.
