I have never had surgery before and I'm soo afraid to ever have to get it :(

I will probably need my wisdom teeth out soon, though.. and maybe my gall bladder after some tests go through.

Medicine has a sinister attitude toward pain, fearing we might be influenced by such secondary benefit such as relief.

Broke a disc in my spine while on a roof in Hawaii-'74. Double hernia repair -2004. One side of hernia repair failed-fixed in 2006. Pulminary embolism-2oo7-fed rat poison at the hospital to break it up. Installed a stent for AAA-2008. (this was the big one= removed aorta from below my heart down to the stent and replaced with plastic.DR. said he could see my backbone right thru the aorta and said later--we were lucky to pull this one off! How I'm still roofing---I don't know, but I is. If I didn't have a sense of humor ,I'd be a grumpy modecker.

Been stitched up a bunch of times...chin, ear, mouth (impacted wisdom teeth), and vajay-jay twice.

    I look just like Frankenstein.

Me too, far too many... had a few repair jobs tying things back together and removing debris which shouldn't be there.

Yet the worst scars are the ones you didn't go and get stitched up when everyone said you should!

    3 surgeries for me.

1 on my knee when i torn my ACL a few years back

then 2 more from a motorcycle wreck which almost killed me. crushed my clavicle on one side and broke my wrist and part of my thumb. the clavicle didn't heal the first go around so i had to have a 2nd surgery with a grapht(sp?) from my hip bone.

Well, i was going to add some pics but i don't have them hosted anywhere and can't find the attachment button :(
