i actually kept 6 braids they are scattered about hehe i like the texxture they have hehe. @roorshack Yeah i heard about all that roor nonsense, i always get my tubes imported, anyway now i am starting to buy american, Zob has some clai-made stuff which is pretty sweet, and i just put in an order for a halo, those perc's are insane. lol this is totally not the thread for this haha.
I need to get back into following glass a bit... I kinda gave it a rest after acquiring two tubes and doing quite the opposite with several hundred dollars a piece. Bout the braids, yeah, I think it should look cool to have dreads with a few scattered, dreading braids
dreaded up, can't wait for them to really start locking up. I counted an i have a total of 4 braids and 56 dreads. ^_^
heyhey, so its officially been one week since i got mi dreds. Here is how they look: I have a question, my hair is somewhat wavy but fairly straight. Now since i've dreaded them I've washed them twice once on monday, I went to the beach on tuesday and gave them a soak cause i thought the way the salt water dried your hair would be good for the locks, and then i washed my hair again last night, now the question is my dreds keep like untangling themselves as is not completely locking, I back combed them yesterday, and then i was thinking of doing it again now, is it a bad idea to keep constantly back combing, and does the hair normally try to unlock? I mean it doesnt try to unlock it just gets loose in random area? here is what i am talking about:
Where do you live, the beach pic is purrty. I wanna live there! Your dreads are going to look amazing, you have awesome length. You should take out your rubber bands though, Leave in either the roots or the tips. If you leave them in both roots and tips they will have a hard time knotting and tightening believe me I had them like that for 3 weeks and they just wouldn't knot or do anything. As soon as I took the rubber bands out on my tips my dreads started knotting up way faster, but if you want you can keep the roots in for a bit, the Max 3 weeks so they don't dread in. Like Smelly D said they will come out and re-do themselves but its a part of the process, but when you have the bands on both ends its going to be harder. Good luck on your journey
thanks much for the advice, i took the rubber bands at the tips out a few days ago ( actually it was the same day of the beach picture, when I got home so 3 days ago). I was contemplating taking the ones at the root either today or tomorrow, but i think i am going to have to back comb a little at the root cause its not that knotty. As for the picture it was taken South Beach Miami around the northpart where it gets residential (beaches are more private, not as many tourists), its very nice here a;ready 90 degrees come on over .
It was 84 here today but I'm in the Orlando area The dreads are looking awesome. Have a fun journey sister. Peace.
I am actually going to Miami in a couple weeks Also don't back-comb the roots, you don't want to break the hairs at such a important part of your dreads, so I would say let them be and maybe keep the rubberbands for a couple weeks, that what I did and my roots stayed pretty tight for a while.
