I never realized how addicted to texting I am until my phone got shut off today. The thing is I am actually frustrated and annoyed that I can't text the people I normally do. Yeah I have called but not everything calls for a long conversation...and now I cant get my "good morning" texts.
i always wondered what the hell all those people in my 8:50 a.m. class could possibly be texting about at that time...
I dont have a phone so I wouldnt know, much more freeing not having a phone Also because Ive never owned a mobile for more than 2 months...they always either get lost or broken.
how is restricting yourself in any way freeing? that's like Prehistoric Zog saying "more free me no have wheel."
I dont find it restricting, I find the fact that people have the option of contacting me whenever they want quite restricting. May not make sense to anyone else but to me, I like the freedom of not having something small and expensive to lose, not having to worry about people trying to contact me or me having to contact others. Mobiles are still very new. 20 years ago people would never have called and said "where are you?" It sounds strange but your comparison isnt a good one  Ill take one with me when Im travelling for safety but it will only be turned on if it needs to. I just prefer people not being able to contact me whenever they want.
this counterpoints every point you made about people being able to contact you. still more freeing that you can turn it on if you have a reason to, rather than not even having the option. i hear you about the small expensive thing to lose though. that sucks when it happens.
really 3500 a month??????? Holy that is a lot of money. My kids have an unlimited texting plan that it under 50 a month each.
OK. I'm a ditz.......now it makes sense. I could not figure out how anyone could be paying 3500 a month, sorry. Now I will make a comment that hopefully makes sense.....you must have a lot of friends and if you text that often, no wonder you are missing it. Sorry that I misunderstood. if I keep it up I will buy a different hair colour next time!
Yeah. I would shit myself. I'm not *addicted* to texting but I highly prefer it over talking on the phone. It's more convenient because you can get back to them when it's good for you and vice versa. You also have a minute to think about what you want to say without an awkward silence. I also fucking hate hearing my own voice echo over a bad connection or while on speaker...
Good morning, I own a mobile phone for about 10 or 12 years now and in sum I had sent 35 messages over the years. OK, let it be 50 or even 100, but it's in that range. Regards Gyro
i hate my mobile at the moment. it's half touch screen and it either thinks I'm touching it when I'm not or doesn't respond when I actually am touching it. I'm too lazy/cheap to get a new one though, i swear they make them with a 3 month half life so that you're forced to buy a new one, and they make you pay shitloads when really it's just a plastic piece of crap.
i wonder how many texts i send a month??..alot im sure i love bein able to text, even just stupid little random messages to my friends.. or if i get a little stupid random message off them ..
I will text a short message, like, I'm on my way or I will be 5 minutes something like that, but I don't like having a full conversation by text, it's annoying.
