Palin revealed her daughter's pregnancy just after she became McCain's running mate.

Then they announced on the first day of the Republican National Convention in 2008 that Bristol would be getting married. IIRC, Bristol was wearing an engagement ring at the convention.

But then the engagement was called off after the birth, much like Palin called off her governorship after the 2008 Presidential election in the midst of all the ethics probes of her governorship.

Wonder what happened? Heaven forbid if the timing of all of those pregnancy and marriage announcements was staged for political reasons.
