ok lemme try and come back to where you all are. i don't support the bnp. let's get that straight. but the only thing in british politics and media which is supporting the truth right now is the guardian newspaper and they are so left i doubt they know where their right is. it's thoroughly broken, so i say again, if you have a better protest give it to me because i want it.

Almost anything is better than voting BNP, including taking McLeod's position of not turning up, or even attempting to peacefully protest or disrupt the process. Spoil your ballot. If enough people did this there would be serious outcry (far more than millions simply not turning up, which just says "I'm not interested in politics whatsoever, do what you like").

Vote Green or another single-issue, protest party. This at least shows that you are interested in democracy and change rather than voting Nazi which simply says "I'm a racist idiot" and makes anyone of any merit automatically discount your opinion as worthless and start worrying about how we better educate people in the ways of democracy (which equates to all the mainstream parties grouping together in an anti-BNP stance and basically doing more of the same). A vote for the BNP is counter-productive as protest because it *strengthens* the system as it stands. Witness what happenbed on last year's Question Time. The main parties were all saying the same things in unison...

    no there wouldn't be outcry.

labour would say 5 million spoiled their ballot (same as not voting), 2 million voted for us and we win

and i accept the BNP isn't the right party for the UK and i wouldn't vote for them if i believed they have a chance in hell but just look at how riled up you are. it's a "the system is broken" vote.

    iThinks: -
Do you vote for the person? Do you blame the candidate for the Party?
Is 'any' Party one for the people? Is anyone trustworthy?
The system is played like a battlefield by all Parties and unless one is fortunate to escape the rat race of society - and all that the it brings with it the registering though protest may be the best option
I've always thought that if you are to register your complant, best to spoil the ballot paper than not bother to vote
    Because
Someday, one day 'they' may come up with the idea of removing the roght to vote fpor thjose who don't use it - Far fetched? Well dafter things have happened and as I said, strategic planning ahead by the consipirtors of the shadows may dictate a change that is unwanted, unwarranted and unjust ?!?
Protest is the right of us all

Voting BNP is an "I'm an ignorant racist idiot" vote. If you want to protest, you do so by a means which clearly says "I protest". You don't show positive support for a party with a view diametrically opposed to your own, thereby enhancing that party's popularity and power. The idea is clearly absurd, counter-productive and foolhardy...

no it isn't because i have calculated they have zero chance of winning in my constituency, and my vote will make the powers that be look at the zone and say, "what's going wrong there"

i'm not an ignorant racist idiot. i'd vote for for the sharia justice party on the same credentials (if they had privilege of mass)

we might even get (another) european social grant.

I'm not saying you are. Your vote is saying you are. Your communication with the state will say "I'm an ignoramus whose opinion is dangerously ill-informed, I need educating, I need you to set an example to me of how democracy works, I need the main parties to group together and tell me why racism and fascism are dangerous things, how the system we have is so much better than that and needs to be supported and protected..."

you have a higher opinion of the states analogy than i, but in fact the only rational thing i said with my vote is i disagree with your policies, and nothing of what you said.

Importantly, all your vote says is that by ticking next to their name you AGREE with the policies of the BNP... all the rest follows (ie I have voted BNP, therefore I'm dangerously ignorant or a racist...)

No, any vote for any party is a positive vote in support of that party and will clearly be taken as such and claimed as such by that party. The only way of registering your protest without making such a positive vote of support is to spoil your paper... Protest voting is fine, but vote for a party that is not full of ignorant fascist thugs if you're not yourself an ignorant fascist thug. Does this really need saying?!

I forgot how many idiots there are in this forum.

I hate it when people pretend to be smart by playing, what seems to be, devil's advocate. Atleast I hope that's what they're doing, because if they actually believe this bollocks they're probably more incapable of logic.
