In my times with MDMA two years ago, there was a single point that stood out so glaringly obvious from the whole experience, a single question. Which was, can you live without fear sober? I've been focusing upon this for 2 years now in meditation, and really just constant everyday life. And I feel I can say, it is very possible, and I am almost doing it. I have almost naturally trained my nervous system to not register fear. I say almost because, of course there is always more to learn, more to do. I kind of feel this is what the real purpose of MDMA's existence is, why the Dao delivered it to human cognition. I feel that the intense depressions MDMA can drop you into afterwards are just it teaching you, showing you, that you mustn't let fear register. It's forcing you to learn how to not let fear register. Even pain can go away. Pain registers as pain because it is going through the fear circuitry of your body, for lack of better terminology. If you have suspended the fear circuitry, pain is no longer pain, but is rather just intensity.
Your achievement is great dude. Thanks for sharing. I also hope to arrive in a peace state, for now I'm trying to keep a constant insight and reading a few books.
i got fear. all it does is make me sharp (and impulsive). fear isn't an enemy. fear isn't pain either, it's much more closely related to anger. next time someone tries to kill you go at them hammer and tongs. you'll see how it is.
Does a plant have fear? Or a mushroom? No, they just go straight at the light. One might look at a plants growth and say the plant fears darkness. But it's growing towards the light doesn't have anything to do with it running from darkness out of fear, but rather because it is pulled towards the light. Not having fear doesn't mean you don't accurately navigate reality, but rather, it means your awareness is only engrossed in getting that which is truly most important, and in doing so, you sort of naturally evade darkness.
A person's judgement and mind is far beyond the non-existant thoughts of plants and mushrooms. The fact that plants "go straight to the light" says nothing about how clever a plant is, or how it lacks fear in anyway. It more says: Plants mindlessly follow that which gives them the energy to do so.
Plus we are not as dependent on the fight or flight response in the modern world. There is a surplus of useless fear that if tamed down would be beneficial.
